Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector. Now, this vehicle wiring harness is custom designed to fit your 2022 and newer Chevrolet Bolt EUV. Just input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, this harness is going to give you a 4-pole flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights.

This is going to also be compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters, and those adapters are sold separately. And as you've already seen, this does include a dust cap for the 4-pole flat connector. And that dust cap is going to cover up those connection points on the plug when this is not in use. So this is going to protect the outlet, the plug here, from dust, debris, moisture, things like that. And as you can see, this does have a very tight fit, so you're not gonna have to worry about that cap accidentally coming off.

Then when you're ready to use it, you just slip it off, and this will be ready for use. Now, the black box on this harness is a powered taillight converter. This is going to make sure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer. This connects directly to your vehicle battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system, reducing strain on your vehicle's wiring system. Curt builds each converter using surface mount technology for consistent, reliable performance.

This is going to maximize trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, ensuring superior operation in rough road conditions. And this harness is designed to connect quickly and easily. You will need to locate your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in the rear cargo area, you will have to remove the rear threshold to access the connection point for the harness. But once you locate those connectors, you're gonna separate them, and then you wanna be careful not to break the locking tabs. And then you're going to insert these T-connector ends between the vehicle's wiring connectors and lock them into place.

These T-connector ends are custom fitted for your vehicle, so they are going to match up perfectly with those connection points, and they're gonna snap together and then lock together for a tight, secure fit. Now, once you have those connections plugged in, you will need to make a good ground connection. The ground wire is this white wire. And as you notice, this does have a ring terminal attached to it. And it comes with a self-tapping screw that you see right here, so you can get that grounded to a suitable location, such as your vehicle's frame or crossmember. You just wanna make sure that the surface is clean and rust-free. Then you will need to mount this converter box to a safe, out-of-the-way location. You can do that a number of ways, you could use another mounting screw that you might have on hand, or you can use this included double-sided adhesive tape, or use one of the many cable ties that's included with this kit to secure this. Next, you will need to run the hot lead to your vehicle's battery. That's this short black wire that's coming out of our converter box here. This short black wire is going to get connected to one end of this bundle of black wire that comes with this kit. And then you are going to connect the hot lead wire to one end of this bundle of wire with one of the included butt connectors. And then you're going to route the other end of this bundle to your vehicle's battery. And once you have this routed to your battery, you're going to take this fuse holder here, and this fuse holder, you'll just snip the wires in half there, and then you're going to take the second butt connector and connect the routed bundle of black wire to one of the wires here of this fuse holder. And then the other wire on this fuse holder will get this included ring terminal attached to it, and that ring terminal will get attached to the positive post of your vehicle's battery. This does include a 15 amp fuse, you'll drop that into the fuse holder, and it has a cap there that you can close to keep that fuse safe and protected. You're gonna be able to secure any slack that you might have in your wiring, again, with the many cable ties that's included with this kit. And once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location, or you can find a bracket here at etrailer.com to mount this closer to your trailer hitch receiver, so it'll always be ready to go mounted outside of your vehicle. Again, you'll just use that cap to cover up those connection points to keep them protected from the elements. Now, the maximum amperage for the stop/turn lights is three amps per circuit, and for the taillights, six amps per circuit. A great set of instructions is included to guide you through the installation process. It is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections, such as the plugs on the vehicle and the 4-pole connector itself. So if you do need that grease and you don't already have it, on your screen, I am including our item number for that dielectric grease. And that grease, in case you don't know, is actually designed to prevent electrical failures that are caused by corrosion and moisture. So you can just take that item number, put it in the search field of our website, that will take you to that grease, and you can add that to your order if you so desire.
