I received my replacement receiver today. Sounds as though you received the one I sent back. The reducer for the ball worked great and the height for the trailer was just right. I tested it out and it works perfect with a level ride. Thanks for your knowledgeable help. Your company does a great job on finding the right solution for the hitch somebody would buy. Bushing makes it possible to use an 1 7/8 trailer ball on the larger bore hole used for a 2 inch trailer ball. Perfect fit on a Curtis 2 inch receiver.

In order to use the hitch ball part # 63912 in the ball mount part # D-4 you will need to use a hitch ball bushing part # C21100 since the shank of the hitch ball is 3/4 inch in diameter and the hole of the ball mount is 1 inch. An 1/8" of play is acceptable for the hitch ball. Especially with such a light weight hitch rating of the MaxxTow Adjustable-Height Ball Mount # MT70068 at 5,000lbs maximum. I have a solution for you. First, for a 50mm ball I recommend # 63912. Then for a ball mount with a 2 inch drop I recommend # D-4 and the Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3. You are right, the ball mount takes a ball with a 1 inch shank diameter so to be able to use the 50mm ball with its 3/4 inch shank, you will also need bushing # C21100. This will allow the 3/4 inch shank to work with the 1 inch ball hole.

I have two options for you to consider The Curt ball mount # C45220 will have a 2-3/8 inch drop and ball hole diameter of 1-inch. It's the closest to the 3-inch drop you referenced but currently there isn't any with a 3-inch drop only. The gross towing weight of the Curt ball mount is 7,500 pounds and tongue weight is 750 pounds.
