Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the RV curtain retainers. These are a side-mount retainer that's going to allow you to hold your curtains open so that you can see out the window, all the gorgeous scenery that you are traveling so far to see, or so that you can just let the warm sunlight in, warm up your RV while you're out and about.These can also be used to hold your valances back if you like. They are a plastic construction, which ordinarily plastic doesn't have a connotation of being super durable, but with all the strain that these are going to be under, it's not going to be very much. So I think plastic is going to be just fine.
It's going to allow you to slide your curtains there, keep them from falling back to center. Really you're not going to have much weight or force there at all, so I think plastic construction is going to be sufficient and do a good job for you.This does replace the RV designer A285. It comes with mounting screws that you're going to need to mount it. Just simply insert those into the slots there to hold this up on the wall where you want those curtains to be. So it'll really be in this orientation here so that your curtains will be split down the middle.As far as our measurements go, we're going to have an overall width of right about three and three-quarters of an inch.
You can see just a little bit over, so maybe three and seven-eighths. It's going to stick out from the wall a total of right about two and one-eighth of an inch, just under two and a quarter of an inch. Our inside measurements, going to be looking at about one and three-quarters of an inch by, I'm going to call it about three and a half inches there of total inner length.So if you're needing to hold your curtains open in your RV, I think these are going to do a good job for you. They are made here in the USA, so you can trust they are made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products made here in the US, and they do come with a limited lifetime warranty. So if you we're to have any problems with it, you could give us a call, and we'll help you out with that.But overall, I think they're going to do a good for you, allow you to see outdoors, allow that sunlight to come in.
Really when you're traveling in an RV, you're out there to see the outdoors. So it's important to be able to open up those curtains in the morning when you're sipping on your coffee or what have you. Although this part is a perfect fit, it was a bit of a guess because no dimensions were given. This part is 2” x 4” and I guessed right.

I purchased several items from etrailer - curtain holdbacks (plastic) and thankfully they had them because they are hard to find. A new CO/LP detector because ours was expired (they only last 7 years) and bunk sheets. The first two items I needed, but the sheets were a big bonus - I had sheets custom made for our Phoenix Cruiser and they were expensive...these were reasonable priced (less than 1/2 of what I paid) plus they are way better! I wish I would have known about them before I had the custom sheets made. What a find!!!

- Do The Side Mount JR Products RV Curtain Retainers Come In Metal Or Plastic.The RV Curtain Retainers - Side Mount - Qty 2 # 37281485 does not come in metal. However, if you are looking for a more sturdy way to keep your curtains reigned in or tame you can use the Snap Fasteners for RV Walls - Qty 6 # 37281585. You obviously can't break these but you will have to screw them into the walls and your curtain fabric.
