Video Transcript for Review of Redarc - Battery Chargers - 331-GS-AMPS

Today we're taking a look at the hall effect current sensor. The hall effect sensor measures current to or from your main or auxiliary battery. This sensor goes around the battery cable, has an inter diameter of around five eighths of an inch, and then the current displays on your REDARC gauge. Gauges are sold separately and are available at etrailer.com. This unit features a fully sealed cable that's protected against the elements. It's ideal for rugged environments, and it does have a 100 amp rating to prevent damage from overloads.

The cable length is around 13 feet long. Input or operating voltage is eight volt DC.Now, the three wires on the sensor are designed to plug into the correct positions on your REDARC gauge. On the back of your gauge, you're gonna have a seven way or a seven pin connector as well as a six way or a six pin connector. The yellow wire needs to be pushed into the spare hole on the seven way connector on the back of the gauge. The brown wire needs to be pushed into the end hole on the six way connector on the back of the gauge, and the pink wire needs to be pushed into the next spare hole, or spliced onto the wire in the six way connector. That's gonna do it for the hall effect current sensor from REDARC..

  • Recommended RV Shore Power to Lithium Battery RV Converter and Engine Alternator to Lithum Charger
The Progressive Dynamics PD9100 Series Inteli-Power Converter - Lithium - 12 Volts - 60 Amps # PD9160ALV will allow up to 60 amps power draw. It sounds like you are able to pull more, so I recommend upgrading to the 80 amp # PD9180ALV. This will charge your batteries in about 2 hours give or take. If you want to charge your battery while driving, I recommend the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 40 Amp # 331-BCDC1240D along with the 60-Amp MIDI...

  • Recommended Dual Voltage Gauge with 52mm Diameter
The Redarc Battery Voltage Monitoring Gauge - Dual Voltage - 2-1/16" Diameter # 331-G52-VVA is the closest we carry to what you are seeking. It will monitor two 12 volt batteries and the gauge diameter is the 52mm so it will fit without modifying the dash. The manufacturer however states it is not suitable for marine environments so it is not a sealed gauge. We don't carry anything that is water tight for that application, so if you are concerned about water in the gauge we don't have...
