Recommended Dual Voltage Gauge with 52mm Diameter
Question:
My boat has a single battery Analog Voltmeter installed in the dash and Ive been looking for a dual battery monitoring device to install at the helm, and preferably, a 52MM round gauge that would allow me to replace the existing voltmeter in the dash without having to modify the dash and have visibility into both battery banks on the boat Starting and Aux. Battery. This item appears it would do the trick nicely, but I note the information available on this product makes no mention at all about use of the product in a boat or marine environment. Is there any reason this device would be incompatible for use on a boat?

The Redarc Battery Voltage Monitoring Gauge - Dual Voltage - 2-1/16" Diameter # 331-G52-VVA is the closest we carry to what you are seeking. It will monitor two 12 volt batteries and the gauge diameter is the 52mm so it will fit without modifying the dash. The manufacturer however states it is not suitable for marine environments so it is not a sealed gauge. We don't carry anything that is water tight for that application, so if you are concerned about water in the gauge we don't have anything compatible. If you don't need the sealed gauge because the location of the dash won't see water, then it will work well.
The Hall Effect Current Sensor for Redarc Battery Voltage Monitoring Gauges # 331-GS-AMPS is often used with this gauge.
