Snowplow Installation
Front or rear mount? Versatility is the SnowSport LT's middle name.
Installation is quick and simple - just slide the included shank assembly into your 2" hitch receiver and secure with pin.
Once the plow frame is connected, attach the blade by lifting one end at a time onto the frame's holders. The lightweight aluminum blade construction makes lifting or adjusting an easy, one-person job. Secure the blade in either the transport or plowing position with the plow's snap pins. The low-profile design won't block your headlights, and the transport position is secure enough for highway travel.
If using with a rear-mount receiver, simply lower the blade to plow position and back up as usual. For a front-mounted plow blade, just drive forward with the blade in the plow position. The unique design takes the hassle out of plowing: This device has no hydraulics or complicated wiring. The push frame on the shank assembly allows the blade to move along the grade of the terrain for easier, more efficient plowing. The heavy-duty rubber cutting edge is effective yet turf friendly, collecting snow and squeegeeing slush without digging into the ground.
When you are ready to reverse your driving direction, the blade lies back, skimming over the surface of the ground until you change direction again to plow.
Handy blade markers extend vertically from the ends of the plow to help you see where you are plowing.
With the SnowSport LT, plowing snow is as easy as backing out of your driveway. Once you are finished plowing, simply lift the blade, refasten it in the transport position and head off for work or errands.

If you have a trailer hitch receiver at the front of your vehicle, you can use the Thule GoalPost to carry extra-long lumber or equipment that would not otherwise fit on your roof. When mounted in the front, the load bar on the GoalPost extends farther out from your roof rack crossbars than when the support is mounted in the rear. As a result, you can safely balance long loads with ease.

Today on this 2012 Toyota 4Runner were going to install part number C31054 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the vehicle. Next well give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories such as a winch mount or a skid plate. From the center of the hitch pins the outside edge of the bumper is going to be 4 inches and from the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 11-1/4 inches. Now well go ahead and show you how t he hitch is installed. The first thing we need to do to start our installation is to go ahead and remove the driver and passengers side underbody panels.
Therell be five fasteners on each side. Thats it for our drivers side. Repeat the same process on the passengers side. Next, we need to remove this bolt right here. Therere three of them in a row, we take out the bottom one.
Before we install the hitch well show you the attachment points. One is going to be the tie down loop itself and the bulk of it we just previously removed the bolt from, and theres a weld nut on the side of a tow loop that well use as an attachment point as well. This will be identical on both sides of the vehicle. When were cleaned up, well spray the hole with some spray lubricant and then run a bolt in to make sure that it goes in ok. The older the vehicle is the more work this will take.
At this point we can go ahead and install our hitch. Now you definitely want an extra set of hands help hold it up there while you install the hardware. Now well install the bolts going to the side. Remember leave everything loose so you can move the hitch around so you can install the hardware. Now well go ahead and install the hardware for our tow loop right here.
Our carriage bolt well install from this side and into the hole. Make sure it goes all the way through into place and then our flange nut. Thats it for the drivers side, one more time on the passengers side. With all our hardware installed, lets go ahead and tighten down everything and then torque the bolts down as specified in the instructions. And then this point is optional, we can reinstall the panels or we can leave them off. Were going to reinstall them. Were going to have to do some trimming. What we found out is that were going to cut from this edge here from this one mount, follow this edge and from this angle go right to the A right here in Toyota. Come over about a inch or so and it will go back straight up to this corner right here and then go straight back down. You also have to cut on the inside here up to this gusset. Well go ahead and reinstall our panel. And with that our install is complete. And there you have it for part number C31054 from Curt on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner.

Perfect for winches, spare tire carriers and more.I Installed this unit on a 2011 Toyota SR5. The two areas that took the most time were getting the M12 bolts threaded into weldnuts that had been exposed to the elements for 8 years. I live in the northeast where salt is used a lot in the winter. The other time consuming area was trimming the plastic panels after the hitch is installed. I had to trim in a slightly different area than shown on the diagram. The trimming took a lot of trial and error. Hopefully, a picture of a trimmed panel is shown here. I am a 67 year old amateur mechanic installing this on ramps in my garage. It took about 3 hours including a trip to the auto parts store to get a set of shallow 6 point metric sockets. The deep dish 6 point sockets that I owned would not work for removing the frame bolts. The frame bolts came out much easier than I thought they would using a breaker bar. My impact wrench wouldn’t fit up there. Not enough clearance. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of the hitch! I plan on using this hitch along with a load extender to transport long heavy items such as rough sawn lumber, etc. I might also need it if I get stuck getting into or out of hunting camp.
I am just disapointed with the hitch mounting holes not lining up! I know what I am doing and did not tighten up bolts whatsoever so there was room for play and still did not work. I tried so hard to make it work that now one side of the mounting broke on my 4 runner. I really like etrailer products but this one came in wrong but I had to make it work for my needs. I could not wait another week or 2:( Also, my 2020 4RUNNER is stock height with 17 inch BFG tires...Should I have this clearance? Is it standard and looks correct? If I would have had time I certainly would have asked for another hitch that was made correctly. Again, I like etrailer and usually have great luck but this time it cost me money and time and heartache and just overall terrible experience. I would so much appreciate if you made this experience right for me.

It sounds like your hitch is slightly flexed. There are a variety of ways to fix this issue with this attached helpful guide. If your weldnut is broken, you will need to remove the weldnut and fish a carriage bolt and spacer through the frame at that attachment point. This attached video shows you how to do that:

This hitch is well built and well finished - however it's not a great fit for the 2016 Toyota 4Runner Limited. The mount lines up perfect but the hitch bar and receiver are not quite low enough to accommodate the Limited's lower front end, without cutting/removal of body parts beyond the 2 mentioned in the instructions. You will need to remove and modify the lower air dams and an air intake/guard before completely tightening the mounting bolts.
I was able to cut away large parts of the hitch because of my specific application (only needed the mounts to weld off), but other folks with a 2016 Limited may not be happy with removing or trimming the additional body parts or panels.
I can give 5 stars for the quality of the hitch and receiver but 3 stars for fit and ease of install on 2016 Limited.
This is a solid hitch, the finish is good. I have used it with the Thule GoalPost load extender and it is super easy to carry long loads such as lumber or a canoe. Way easier than going to get my trailer hooking up getting my load and returning my trailer. With the front hitch I put in the extender and am on my way. It does hang below the bumper so I gave up a couple inches of ground clearance, which can occasionally make the hitch great for taking soil samples :) I will probably get a small plow this winter which will be awesome when the snow comes.
Great front trailer hitch receiver and it went on smoothly in about one hour. Taking some parts removed from 4runner to put the hitch on took about the same amount of time.
The hitch bracket fits like a glove on a 2022 4Runner. I would like the hitch cannel about an 1-1/2 inch higher. But that’s for Curt. It’s well made and heavy duty.
The chains are great. And fairly easy to put on (the second time).
I live on a curved, uphill driveway. I keep a boat at my house for a friend but I dreaded backing up the driveway. My dog was barking and I was cussing. A friend suggested I get a front trailer hitch which I did not know existed. This easily-mountable hitch has been an epiphany and I no longer dread parking the boat. The part was perfectly-machined and I will never be without this previously-unknown accessory. 5 stars for sure!
missing one of the two small washers.
can you send a replacement?
Great product! Was easy to install, quality build and nice finish.
I installed the front mount hitch receiver on my 2020 4Runner. The instructions were clearly written, the on-line video was very helpful, and the assistance of my brother to help me was invaluable. Really, get someone to help, as it is very sturdy and heavy.
It has been awhile since we ordered this, but we hadn't had an opportunity to use it. We ran into two minor problems installing it. The 5/8" bolts and carriage nuts that fasten to the vehicle tow loops are supposed to be torqued to 210 ft-lbs. This is next to impossible if you are laying on the ground trying to install it without a lift. I solved this by having my Toyota dealer torque these bolts when I had it in for service. If you try to install the underbody panels (an optional step), it is very difficult to get some of the screws into the proper holes after the hitch is installed I left out those that were too difficult to reinstall. No problem so far. We recently used the hitch with a bike rack to transport our bikes while also towing a trailer. It worked great. I would gladly buy it again. I expect to use it for a second spare tire carrier next summer.

It has been great. It works well for transporting bikes, as I expected. Iwould recommend purchase of the Curt skid plate for it. We have it and ithas been used a couple of times on rough road excursions.
This is the 2nd Curt front hitch I've purchased for 2 different Toyota 4runners. Both have been designed well and been easy to install. The paint finish is long lasting. Having a front hitch is great for moving trailers, boat slips, etc, and my snowplow connects to the front reciever. etrailer, in my experience, has low prices, fast shipping, and good products. I hadn't heard of Curt, before about 4 years ago, but I definitely am a fan.

Im still a fan
I was a little surprised with the snow plow. I thought it was going to be hydraulic/electric. It does okay, going on flat and slight declines. Inclines not so good. I also. Bought a rear trailer hitch. Very pleased with it.
This is a really slick hitch. Bolt on no problem and swings my boat in and out of a tight parking space smooth and easy.
Outstanding! While others were sold out, etrailer.com was fully stocked!
Fit well and was easy to install. Excellent dealings with etrailer.

After one year, so far so good. I have used this unit many times during the year. I have used it for ripping out brush using a slip chain, helped pull a buddy’s SUV and trailer up a muddy hill, used it to help fell a tree, and carry a canoe from NY to Virginia. In the first 3 instances, it was especially convenient to be able to see what was going on and coordinate activities without having to turn around and look back which would be the case if using the rear trailer hitch. Very pleased that I purchased this unit!
