We have two hitches for your 2011 BMW 328xi convertible as long as it is not the M3, we have the Stealth Hitch # SH78VR or the # SH94VR. Once you have your hitch installed, you will have a large number of choices for bike racks to carry 3 bikes. I recommend the Thule Helium Pro 3 # TH9043PRO. I have attached a video of this bike rack and the two hitches. You would be able to choose any 3-bike rack that works with a 2" hitch receiver.

I would love to help but we do not offer a trailer hitch for a 2008 BMW 328i Convertible. Therefore, no the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11033 will not work for you. If you needed to tow a trailer you would have to look at other tow vehicles but if you were wanting a trailer hitch for a bike rack, then we do still have an option for you. Yes, for your 2016 BMW 335i xDrive I recommend Curt trailer hitch # C11367. I have linked a video showing an example installation of this trailer hitch for you. This is a Class I trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver.
If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch.

The Thule T2 PRO part # TH23JV is compatible with Class I hitches like what you would have to install on your 2011 BMW 3 Series and has a 100 lb capacity. Because of that and the fact this rack only touches bike at the tire this would be your best option.

I have a solution for you, but Thule does not recommend the use of any of their 3 bike trunk racks on your 2007 BMW 328xi.
Instead I would recommend the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack # HRF2-3. This is a great rack that will attach very securely to your vehicle and as long as you don't exceed the weight capacity of this rack (35 lbs per bike), you should be just fine. In order to pick out the correct bearing buddy you will need know the pilot hole of your hub. To do this, remove the wheel and tire and remove the grease cap from the center of the hub. Usually it is a metal cap that is just lightly hammered into place. Use a screwdriver to pry off the cap.
