I find the best way to verify what transmission cooler line is the return is by using a TireMinder Infrared Thermometer # TM48FR. This will ensure you find the correct line since both the inlet and outlet connections on your radiator are identical. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the input and output wires on the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness # 118552.
The tester will pierce the insulation of wires you want to check. If you have access to the connectors where the converter plugs into the vehicle harness, you can back probe the connector without having to pierce the wire insulation.
