The Jeep requires the diodes integrated in its wiring to allow the brake light and turn signals to show exactly as they would if you were driving the Jeep. Unfortunately, it's not quite that simple because not all FWD vehicles have transmissions that can be disengaged that will allow for flat towing. Typically the requirement to disconnect the battery is from the manufacturer but I looked through the owner's manual for both the 2021 and 2022 models and they don't list anything about disconnecting it under the recreational vehicle towing section. According to my research you don't need the Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 for a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie since the ignition is turned off. It sounds like you are more likely having and issue with your tow bar wiring rather than the Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # SM99243. You can test this by testing your Air Force One system. Depress the break and verify that the LED indicator light is coming on and that the actuator is pulling the brake pedal in your towed vehicle. It sounds like the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400 locked up your brakes if you had flat spots on your tires. This is most likely the system sensing the deceleration and braking and because of the steep grade kept applying the brakes sensing it needed to help stop your motorhome.

If your Brake Buddy Stealth Supplemental Braking System # HM39530 is activating when you're not even connected to the towed vehicle then you either have an issue with the 7-pin connector or the breakaway switch. The most common cause for this issue from not covering the 7-pin connector on the towed vehicle with the dust cap to deactivate the system.

The issue you are having with your brake lights will have more to do with the flat-tow wiring harness rather than the supplemental braking system. That said, the stop light switch circuit does go dead on certain Jeeps while in tow mode so the incorporation of a Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit is needed.
