It sounds like your Operator Mechanism # MA10-20281K-1AF is not allowing you to open the vent lid after you removed the motor. As you have removed the Motor # MA10-20270 you can try to stick a screw driver up into the gear on the operator mechanism to turn it manually and raise your vent lid. When you tested the tail light wiring to perform the installation did you come across a wire that was just brake but also a wire that was both brake and turn signals? If so then the wire that has both functions would go to the yellow wire on the left side and to the green wire on the right side and the red wire would be grounded with the white wire.
