  • Cant Find Cold Side of Brake Light Switch on 2007 Freightliner Century Semi for Brake Controller
  • I do have a possible brake controller that you can use but unfortuantely I can't really help you out with locating your stop light switch on a 2007 Freightliner Century Semi. The only advice I can really give is to use a circuit tester # PTW2992 or multimeter # PTW1714 to test which wire gets hot when you press the brake pedal. Other than that none of my resources have information on the location of the stop light wire for your 2007 Freightliner Century Semi. If you can't find the stop...

  • Troubleshooting A Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller That Keeps Activating On Its Own
  • Aside from the paranormal, there wouldn't be a way for the manual override knob of the Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C to move on its own. This leads me to believe that either the unit is defective, there's a tiny air leak that the controller is picking up and causing it to activate, or there's an issue with your brake light switch wire and it's getting power somehow and sending the signal to the brake controller. I'd start by checking each connection (air & electric)...

  • Side Marker Lights not Working on One Side of Trailer
  • I do have ideas, which is that you have a ground problem or a short in your wiring. If the marker lights are okay on one side but not the other, your signals are getting to the trailer from the tow vehicle, so we can rule the tow vehicle's wiring out. A short or damaged jumper wire would be the most likely problem. I have added links to help articles on both trailer wiring and troubleshooting trailer wiring I recommend checking out.

  • 1998 5.9 Freightliner Motorhome Troubleshooting Power Loss
  • I wish we carried a programmer that would fit the Cummins engine you have in your motorhome but we don't since the wiring harnesses are different from the Dodge trucks. I do have some tips that may help your motorhome perform at it's peak though. Make sure both fuel filters are clean. There should be one on the frame and one on the engine. Make sure the lift pump is in good working order, when they go out they tend to cause power loss. Your crankshaft sensor could also need to be replaced.

  • Troubleshooting Right Side Brake and Turn Signal Not Working With Running Lights On
  • The first thing I would do is check the 7-way connection on your truck. Make sure there is no debris or corrosion present and clean as necessary. It wouldn't hurt to go ahead and check out the connector on the trailer as well. Once this is done, go ahead and test the functions using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993. If you aren't getting power with the running lights on then you know it is on the vehicle side. If everything checks out it is a problem with the trailer wiring. In both...

  • Switch 12V Constant Running to Reverse Light Pin on 7-Way to 12V Pin to Charge Towed Vehicle Battery
  • The previous owner of your 2008 Leisure Travel Vans Serenity could have wired the 12V wire to the reverse light pin. As such, a possible solution to your problem could in fact be to relocate that circuit to the 12V pin. From there, you can see if the # RM-156-25 is actually supplying power to your battery. If this doesn't solve your problem or causes any other complications, let me know and I will assist you further.

  • Troubleshooting Right Turn Signal on 5th Wheel Trailer Malfunctioning
  • It sounds like you have a short on the circuit for the right turn signal on your 5th wheel trailer. If the 7-Way on your tow vehicle and your 5th wheel look good then you will want to start off by using a Circuit Tester # PTW2992 to test the pin in the 3 o'clock position on your tow vehicle side 7-Way (see attached picture). If you are getting a signal when you use your right turn signal then the problem is on your trailer. Either way, you want to start off by checking the grounds on...
