To add a hitch to your 2014 Lincoln MKS, I recommend the Curt item # C12088. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your MKS with included hardware. This is a class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. It has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight.
I really like the Curt Hitch item # C12088 because the crosstube installs behind your rear bumper leaving only the 2" receiver visible. This not only helps with ground clearance but also looks better.

The Flint Hill Goods Hitch-Mount Cargo Carrier # FHG77ZR has usable interior space that measures 50-1/4" long x 30-7/8" wide x 3-3/4-inchs tall. This carrier fits into 2-inch Class III trailer hitches.
Do please note that your 2014 Lincoln MKS can only be fitted with a 1-1/4-inch Class II hitch so this carrier is not usable on this vehicle.
