To add a hitch to your 2014 Lincoln MKS, I recommend the Curt item # C12088. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your MKS with included hardware. This is a class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. It has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight.
I really like the Curt Hitch item # C12088 because the crosstube installs behind your rear bumper leaving only the 2" receiver visible. This not only helps with ground clearance but also looks better.
I have linked an installation video below to help you get this hitch set up.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56093 and the Draw-Tite Drawbar item # 3593 and then for hitch balls item # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or item # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.
