I went out to the warehouse to measure the lighted skull hitch cover # RP86529. If used in a 2 inch trailer hitch the distance from the top of the shank to the top of the skull is 1-1/2 inches. When used in a 1-1/4 inch hitch the distance is 1-3/4 inches.

While we have a long adjustable ball mount, there are none where just the shank by itself measures a full 9 inches from hitch pin hole to the bar. Reason is that adjustable ball mounts need to be able to take on higher capacities and that would just be too much leverage on the shank alone.
