Hey Marvin! The Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series part # VGD-10-4000 that you are looking at is the only louvered tailgate available for your 2018 Ram 2500. It is made of a strong composite plastic but not metal. It also does not have a bracket or spot for the backup camera.
If you decide to use the Stromberg Carlson tailgate, there are factory backup camera relocation kits available online. We do not carry anything to relocate the camera though. view full answer...
Hey Laurie, if you wanted to have the tailgate access flap open all the time on the Yakima Tailgate Bike Rack part # Y38AR you would need to fold it back and tuck it under the top portion of the cover to allow your rear camera to see behind you. view full answer...
Hey Branden, I have a great solution. So what you'll want to do is go with a longer shank for your Recurve WD system like the part # EQ90-02-4500 which will give you the extension you need to allow your tailgate to open without hitting the tailgate.
Extensions don't work as they aren't rated for use with WD systems. The shank is the same design as what the Recurve uses. view full answer...
Hey Mark, so the Stromberg Carlson fifth wheel tailgate part # VGM-99-100 is not known to rattle so you wouldn't need to worry about that. We also haven't seen these become a high theft item either.
You wouldn't need to run the 7-way plug through the tailgate either. You'd plug into the one at the bumper if it was a bumper pull trailer or the one in the truck bed if it was a fifth wheel/gooseneck. view full answer...
Hey Joe, thanks for reaching out!
For your application you need to use a longer shank for your weight distribution system, like the 18" Long Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4500. If you were to use a standard hitch extender it would cut the weight capacity of your trailer hitch in half, and if you're towing a trailer AND loading a golf cart in your truck bed you'll need all the help you can get.
If you aren't already using a weight distribution system then I recommend pairing... view full answer...
I sure do! The instructions for the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13277 detail in step 7 and 8 how to trim the bumper of your 2018 Audi Q7 and avoid the sensors for the lift gate. I have linked them below.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C59236 and a ball mount kit item # C45534. view full answer...
Hey Frank, I checked out those photos you sent in; thanks for that info! I really don't see any issue here. Sometimes on older trucks we get issues with major rust in some areas, but the slightly misshaped hole shouldn't pose any issue. We have had some instances where the customer needed to run a drill bit through the hole a couple times to complete the circle or make it more round, so you may need to do that. But the good news is that the bolt won't be threading into the hole, but simple... view full answer...
