Do you recommend cutting the bumper the same way if the vehicle is equipped with a hands free ,kick to open, tailgate?

I sure do! The instructions for the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13277 detail in step 7 and 8 how to trim the bumper of your 2018 Audi Q7 and avoid the sensors for the lift gate. I have linked them below.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C59236 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
