There are other holes in the frame rail that any water accumulation will be able to drain out from if need be. Ideally you shouldn't be getting much water inside the frame rail unless you are driving through some higher water like crossing a small creek. view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Curt about the fitment of the Class I Receiver Hitch # C11028 on your 2009 Mazda MX-5 Miata with the Appearance Package and he said that although it does fit up to the frame, there is a significant amount of fascia trimming that needs to be done for you to have access to the hitch receiver. You are correct that a trailer hitch is the best option for carrying 3 bikes with your 2021 Mazda CX-30. The trailer hitch that you need is the EcoHitch # EH55VR because the other options are Class I rated and those are only strong enough to carry 2 bikes. While we have not had a 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV in our shop with the hands free liftgate to test the exact function I can say most applications will not eliminate the use of the kick sensor. I installed our receiver on my Acura RDX which takes up a lot more of the space under the bumper with its visible cross tube and I can still use the kick sensor on mine to operate the hands free liftgate. To add a hitch to your 2021 Mazda CX-5, I recommend the etrailer item # e98902. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Mazda with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 4,000 lbs towing capacity and a 600 lbs maximum tongue weight.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76020 for your 2023 Mazda CX-9 is no longer compatible with the J-Pin 63201. Draw-Tite stopped making their receivers compatible with this pin in 2021 and we have long sold through all those receivers. We do offer their QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover # 63080 which will also help to reduce the rattle on 2" ball mounts and hitch mounted accessories. But you will still need a separate Lock # e98882 to secure everything.

The WingBar Edge roof rack on your 2017 Ford Fusion uses the Edge Clamp Feet # TH79SC so those will carry over to your CX-30. The old fit kit will need to be swapped out for the # TH38RJ. However, your current bars are both the 41" # TH86SC crossbar. The 2023 Mazda CX-30 uses two different size crossbars. Sounds like you are on the right track here Ronald and we do have a product that fits this category. What you will need is the Curt 2 to 3 Wire Tail Light Converter # C56196. This converter will let you connect your 2006 Mazda MX5 with separate or 3-wire system and allow it to receive signals from the combined or 2-wire system on your Class C.

I do have an option for you but the Thule Wheel-On Roof Mounted Bike Wheel Carrier part # TH593 will not work with channels nor is there an adapter for this. However, what you can do is use the SeaSucker Add-On Wheel Holder part # 298-BA1370 along with some appropriate hardware to mount in the channels. It should but Yakima doesn't have a roof rack that attaches to the mounting points you are describing. Theirs and a couple other manufacturer's all attach to the door frames using custom fit clips. Rhino Rack is the only one that makes bases that connect to the pre-drilled holes in your 2023 Mazda CX-5's roof. You will need the following parts:
