  • Troubleshooting Factory Brake Controller Not Working When Using Brake Pedal
  • Just to be sure, are the brakes not engaging while you're stationary and pressing the brake pedal? The brake controller on your 2012 Sierra 3500 is going to be proportional so the brakes won't engage unless you're moving. The brake controller has to sense deceleration before it will apply the trailer brakes. The manual override works no matter what. If they aren't working while you're moving then it is likely an internal problem and I would replace it with something like the # 90885.

  • 5th Wheel Bracket/Rail Installation Instructions For A 2006 GMC 2500
  • Hello Randy. I was able to find some resources that should be helpful for you. We do not deal with the RV pro brand, so I do not have anything pertaining specifically to their bracket kits. We do sell several other rail kits that will fit the 2006 GMC 2500 and I have included links to a few instruction manuals below. We do not have any instructions for the Demco SL rails on an 06 GMC, so this will be the closest thing we have. I have also linked a few install videos for you below if you...

  • Can 41" Extension Be Added to Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit on a 2,990 lb Gross Weight Trailer
  • Great question, Wayne! The 5K Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit for 2" x 3" Trailer Tongue # FHDPB230101 is designed more for cutting into an existing trailer tongue so you gain the ability to fold it away for easier storage. If you have a really short tongue then it's possible to add some more material to it and still maintain a respectable weight rating . For example, in the weight rating chart it states that if the edge of the coupler back to the furthest pivot hole on the hinge kit...

  • Air Compressor For Air Lift Air Bags on 2006 GMC Sierra 1500LD
  • Hi Chris, There is an air compressor that will work with your 2006 GMC Sierra 1500LD and the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers # AL88272. A good option for this is the Air Lift Load Controller II Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL25592. This has an in-cap controller and gauge, and even automatically keeps your air pressure above the minimum 5 psi.

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch and Rails for a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500
  • There would've been a package that whoever was the original owner could've selected that gave them in bed rails to tow a 5th wheel. Seeing as though that's long gone, you're going to have to add them yourself with the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC # C16418-204. I also recommend adding the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Plug # 50-97-410 to the bed of your truck. This is going to make hooking and unhooking your 5th wheel so much easier and...

  • Replacement Air Bags and Fitting for Air Lift 5813
  • If you're referring to the 90 degree fitting on top it is the # AL21848. We no longer carry the replacement air bag, which is the Air Lift 50201. I searched for this part and it looks like Air Lift still carries it so you can get it directly from them.

  • Recommended Replacement Snaps for an Extang Fulltilt Tonneau Cover
  • Michelle, the Replacement Offset Snap Studs for Extang Classic Platinum Tonneau Covers # EX7128 you're looking at is only going to work with the Extang Classic Platinum tonneau covers, and since you have the Fulltilt then these aren't going to work. You'd need the Replacement Snaps Installation Kit for Extang Snap-On Tonneau Covers # EX7028-2016 which will work with all Extang tonneau covers that use snaps.

  • Will Hi-Rise Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter Work With Above-Bed Gooseneck Hitch
  • There is a solution for you to use a gooseneck-to-5th wheel adapter, but the Hi-Rise Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter is only designed to be used with an underbed gooseneck hitch. Due to that I recommend the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045 which only requires you to have a 2-5/16" gooseneck ball, which it will install on. The Recon has a 21,000 lb capacity, is lightweight which makes it very easy to handle and uses a single-piece jaw with...

  • How to Find Weight Distribution Hitch For Trailer Towed With 2004 GMC Sierra
  • Finding the right weight distribution system will require knowing the loaded tongue weight of your setup. You can use a scale like # e99044 or follow one of the methods outlined in the help article below. You can also get a good idea using the GVWR since tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the loaded trailer weight. Ideally you want this number to fall into the middle of the tongue weight range of the system. For a quality WDH that is widely considered the best I recommend choosing the...

  • Recommended Suspension Leveling Kit for a 2011 GMC Sierra 3500 With In-Bed Camper
  • Hey John, take a look at the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRCK25D. These springs are going to sit above the rear axle to help stabilize and level your Sierra, has a nice 8,600 lb capacity, and requires no drilling for install since they replace the factory bump stops. For an install shop near you, you can check out the "Installer Locator" that I've hyperlinked to this answer, and enter your ZIP code to show all shops in your area that'd be able to install these springs.
