The Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock with Handle # PAL1700C is plastic with a chrome finish added to it. According to the reviews we've received people are saying the quality is pretty similar to what came as factory on their truck so I wouldn't say it is high quality, but I also wouldn't say you're downgrading by replacing your OEM 2012 GMC Canyon handle with this.
When I'm shopping online 1-Star ratings make me a little nervous as well so you aren't alone...

- Unfortunately, there is not a plug and play wiring harness available for the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 to fit your 2018 GMC Canyon Denali. This is because GMC does not put a terminal on the end of the brake control wires. Instead they just cut and terminate the wiring as seen in the video near the bottom of this page. Depending on where you would like to mount the controller you may need the Longer Pigtail # 7894 than the one included with the controller.

The Morningstar Duo charge controller SSD-25 that you have is rated for 25 amps which is quite a bit more than 190 watts so you could easily add an additional panel like the 190 watt # GP47MR to what you have now and the controller would be able to take full use of the additional power generated by the second panel.

- Hey Bob, so I checked with Roadmaster and they do have the battery disconnect kit part # RM-766 listed as a fit for the 2024 GMC Canyon gas models and the part # RM93MR for the diesel models. They did state that some truck models have two batteries and in those situations you'd need a disconnect kit for each battery.
They don't list any special steps for your truck and instead recommend just the standard connections. Maybe I am not understanding your battery setup but most vehicle batteries...

- Hey Kenneth, this is a great question but what we have found is that currently more people are preferring to use VHB 3M tape followed by an adhesive sealant like the # AL43KV instead of drilling. This gives you a permanent install that is really solid that doesn't require having to find bracing to drill into and all that comes with that.
We do not carry the VHB tape at this time though.
