The display on the remote of the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Flat Tow Brake System # HM39524 will go to sleep after 5 minutes with no use, but will turn back on when you press a button. It definitely is possible that the system isn't properly applying the brakes if it's not adjusted right to depress the pedal. Hey Wayne, so the Blue Ox Base Plate kit part # BLU46CR is a confirmed fit for your 2024 Jeep Wagoneer and while the bracket width is on the wider side it has been tested and works fine with Blue Ox tow bars. We do have the Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar part # BX7420 which does have a lot longer arms which might help you feel better about the bracket width. The arms of this are 42-1/4 inches long.

Hey Steve, so in regards to your first question I don't see anything wrong with using a splitter and an extension cord with the Demco LED Light Bar for Towed Vehicles w/ Wireless Transmitter # DM36MV as long as it's getting 12V, and your cords are protected, it doesn't matter.

There is no base plate for a 2020 Ford Explorer. According to the owner's manual, you can use a tow dolly like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes # RM-2050-1 if you have a front-wheel drive model. A 'CU' error code on your Brake Buddy Stealth # HM39530 is warning you to check the unit. I recommend checking all of your electric connections for anything loose, making sure your unit is getting 12v power and that it has a proper ground, check the pulley to see if it's binding up, and make sure the 7-wire cable doesn't have any dirt or debris blocking the pins from making full contact.

If the indicator light is constantly on then it's likely just the placement of your reed switch on the air cylinder itself. The reed switch detects magnets and closes the circuit, sending power to the indicator light. Try moving it further toward the end of the cylinder (closer towards yourself). When installing the reed switch it's important to be careful because the reed switch can arc to ground, it will either no longer work or cause the LED to stay illuminated at all times.... view full answer...

Since you've already checked the fuses and found everything was fine that leads me to believe that the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Wiring Harness # HM11141825 has an internal short. I recommend unplugging it from the factory connector and then turn on your running lights. You can then test the factory connector using a circuit tester # PTW2992 to see if the signal is coming through. If it is then we know the # HM11141825 just needs to be replaced.
