  • What Wrench Makes Installing Upper Bolt of Draw Tite Hitch 24819 Easier
  • The size wrench or socket used for installing the hardware of the # 24819 is 1/2 inch although one customer said he used a 13 mm. A couple customers have came back and said that flat wrenches or ratcheting wrenches would help the most for the difficult to access bolt. Smaller hands seems to be the consensus as well. I attached a video that shows the install as well. I wouldn't recommend removing the bumper. Between the Curt and the Draw Tite I like the Draw Tite better since it doesn't...

  • Conical Tooth Washer Placement for Trailer Hitch Installation on a 2010 Toyota Yaris
  • The washers that are included with trailer hitch # 24819, are conical tooth washers similar to # 01292006-020-01. You are correct, they are sort of bowl shaped. The tooth end goes towards the hitch. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the hitch. Using a thread locker like Loc-Tite, # LT37643, can be done but it is not necessary. The conical tooth washer prevents the bolt from backing out.

  • Is Bumper Removal Required to Install Draw-Tite 24819 on a 2009 Toyota Yaris Hatchback

It is not necessary to remove the bumper. Take a look at the links to the installation instructions and an installation video to get a better idea of how the installation will go. The video shows a 5-door 2009 Toyota Yaris, but the installation will be the same on your 3-door model.

  • Is Running Power Wire to Battery Required For Wiring Harness on 2007 Toyota Yaris
  • Yes, you will need to route a 12 volt power wire to the battery of your 2007 Toyota Yaris when installing a trailer wiring harness; there is no way around this as that is the only way for power to get to the converter, which is needed for the harness to work. I have added a link below to a help article which gives details on the best way to route the power wire. So you will need to do that, though the correct wiring harness is going to depend on if your 2007 Toyota Yaris is a hatchback...

  • Does Tow Ready Trailer Wiring Harness # 118517 Require a Battery Connection on a 2009 Toyota Yaris
  • The installation instructions for the Tow Ready Wiring harness, # 118517, are correct. The power wire does need to be routed and connected to the vehicle battery.
