- The size wrench or socket used for installing the hardware of the # 24819 is 1/2 inch although one customer said he used a 13 mm. A couple customers have came back and said that flat wrenches or ratcheting wrenches would help the most for the difficult to access bolt. Smaller hands seems to be the consensus as well.
I attached a video that shows the install as well. I wouldn't recommend removing the bumper.

- The washers that are included with trailer hitch # 24819, are conical tooth washers similar to # 01292006-020-01. You are correct, they are sort of bowl shaped. The tooth end goes towards the hitch. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the hitch.
Using a thread locker like Loc-Tite, # LT37643, can be done but it is not necessary. The conical tooth washer prevents the bolt from backing out.

- You will need to remove some plastic trim rivets so that you can pull back the bumper fascia, but the fascia and rivets go back into place once the # 24819 trailer hitch is installed. It is not necessary to remove the bumper.
