  • Routing a Trailer Wiring Harness Power Wire to the Battery on a 2016 Subaru WRX
  • There are several different methods you could use to route the power wire from Curt trailer wiring harness # C56259 to the battery on your 2016 Subaru WRX. The first step is to find the best exit point from the trunk/cargo area. There are 2 paths you could take. First, you could check for a grommet or some exit point beneath the flooring through which you could route the wire. Or you could come into the cab of the vehicle from behind the rear seats. The next steps are going to depend...

  • How Many Snow Tire Chains Do I Need on 2018 Subaru WRX?
  • If ever you aren't sure about what tires you need to chains on, you can find out by reading your owner's manual. I looked through Subaru's 2018 WRX and WRX STI/RA Owner's Manual and you can double-check yours as well. Since you have a small wheel clearance, Subaru asks you to be extra careful with installing traction devices and that you only use Class S devices like the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Profile Snow Tire Chains # TH00023102. The manual says to only install them on your front...

  • Properly Grounding my trailer wiring on my 2016 Subaru WRX
  • On your 2016 Subaru WRX there will be a designated ground wire that runs to each bulb as part of the factory wiring harness. I would recommend leaving this alone and attaching your ground wire from your trailer wiring harness like the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C56259 directly to the vehicle chassis. This can be seen in the video I have linked for you on an install we did on a 2017 WRX.

  • Does Exhaust Need to Be Lowered To Install Trailer Hitch on 2015 Subaru WRX
  • I'm assuming you're wondering if the exhaust of the 2015 Subaru WRX needs to be altered in order to install the Curt Class I trailer hitch, part # C11408, is that correct? According to the instructions, which you can look over by clicking the provided link, the exhaust will need to be temporarily lowered out of the way during installation, and the heat shield will be temporarily removed so a small hole can be cut in it. If you'll be towing with your WRX, you'll also need the following...

  • Accessing the Receiver Tube For 2018 Subaru WRX EcoHitch Invisi-Hitch
  • There are pros and cons to a design like this product yearning for pure invisibility. While it's certainly a nice aesthetic, it's understandable that the flushness of it might create some clearance issues that would otherwise be absent with other receivers. I don't have a photo, but on the install video that I've attached, at the 1:19 mark of the video, the installer shows a flexibility in the bumper/rear fascia material that allows him to manipulate his hands to access the locking pin...

  • Safety Chain Attachment Points on EcoHitch for 2016 Subaru WRX
  • The EcoHitch Invisi trailer hitch part # 306-X7257 does have safety chain attachment points. Since the hitch has a concealed cross tube the attachment points are difficult to see once the hitch is actually installed. The safety chain attachments are the two brackets at the bottom of the hitch with the holes in them. I have attached a photo for your reference. I am not familiar with the laws in your state but the use of two safety chains is the safest practice. You will want to cross the...
