Since your wheelchair only weighs in at 40 lbs you can actually use any of the trailer hitch options that we have for your 2003 Ford Taurus. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12232 because it is a Class II option which means that it is a little stronger than the Class I Curt option.
You can then use a lightweight cargo carrier like the Curt # C18145 which only weighs 29 lbs. I have linked our selection of cargo carriers that fit a 1-1/4" receiver if you'd like to look at other... view full answer...
I looked at some pictures of the rear spoiler on the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO and it does not appear that it would cause any issues. The OutWay # TH45JV should fit over it just fine.
You might also take a look at the ultimate in spoiler hopping bike rack technology, and my first choice for you, the Over-The Top, # HRF2, which is specifically designed to circumvent a spoiler. It has an extra arm structure that moves the top straps up and over the spoiler.
The 29 inch bike will not be a problem... view full answer...
If your Taurus already has a hitch installed, this rack will fit in your receiver.
In order to determine the clearance distance needed, you would measure from the hitch pin hole in your receiver rearward to the furthest rearward point of the bumper, as shown in the FAQ article I have linked you to. When we installed a Class II or III hitch on your vehicle, we found the clearance distance to be 4 to 5 inches.
The bike rack you choose would need to have a shank longer than the measurement... view full answer...
Yes, the Thule OutWay trunk mount bike rack, # TH45JV, will fit a 2002 Ford Taurus (sedan or wagon).
If you will be carrying women's, children's, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend using the bike adapter bar, # TH982XT, for greater ground clearance and to carry the bikes more level. I have included a link to a video that shows how the adapter works. view full answer...
The hitch I recommend going with for your 2015 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor model is the Draw-Tite # 75670. This is designed to fit the modifications made for the Police Interceptor and comes with a 2" receiver so you'll have a wider variety of options when it comes to accessories that will fit.
Attached is an installation video for you to check out. If you let me know what you plan on using it for I'd be more than happy to make another recommendation for you. view full answer...
I contacted Rhino Rack and the Rhino-Rack XTray Pro Cargo Basket part # RRRMCB03 has a weight capacity of 165 lbs.
You do want to make sure you are not exceeding the weight capacity of your roof rack bars and the roof capacity of your vehicle. The basket itself weighs 48.5 lbs. view full answer...

You will need the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, item # 4415-1, to attach a tow bar to your 2009 Ford Taurus.
The RoadMaster Base Plate to Blue Ox and Demco Tow Bars Adapter, item # RM-033, can then be used to attach a Blue Ox or Demco Tow Bar to the Roadmaster base plates. view full answer...
You will need to use a separate Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 that will be separate from Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56093 on your 2017 Ford Taurus. The diode kit will only tie into the individual brake lights and running lights on the rear of your Taurus. The diodes will prevent any back feed from the vehicle to the towed vehicle. I have linked an installation video for the diodes on an older 2008 Taurus that will help you see how the diodes are wired in. The diodes will go... view full answer...
I reached out to Swagman, who didn't have the exact numbers for the ratcheting hook, but said the hooks on the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack # S94FR will "absolutely" fit the larger 3-1/4 inch downtube on your Yamaha YDX Moro E-bike.
They told me the hook was significantly wider than your downtube, so your bike will be extremely secure.
I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well of the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack # S94FR. view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12296 does only fit certain model years of Ford Taurus; if you have a Ford Taurus anywhere from the 2010 through 2019 model years, this hitch will fit.
The hitch is a really nice option as it does not require any drilling to the frame of your Taurus in order to install, unlike other hitches for these vehicles.
I have added links below to installs on a couple of different model years for you to check out as well of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12296. view full answer...
Most likely you will also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400, but you'll want to go through the steps listed on the page to determine if it's absolutely needed. Roadmaster has the brake light switch wire (purple/white) listed so that usually indicates that it is going to be needed based on their testing.
This relay is to prevent the turn signal from overriding the brake signal, which is important when trying to switch lanes while slowing down or indicating... view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12296 does not fit the Police Interceptor model of the 2013 Ford Taurus. So that's not the hitch you want.
However, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 75670 will. If you also need trailer wiring to tow a trailer use # 118599. This will give you a 4-way connector. I've linked videos of both being installed.
The Draw-Tite # 76034 will fit the 2016 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor. I've linked a video of one we did here. The wiring you'll need is # 118540. view full answer...
Before buying snow tire chains you will want to check your owners manual or with the Ford dealer if you can install snow tire chains on your 2009 Ford Taurus SEL-FWD, or if there are any limitations.
If you have the 215/60R17 tire size on your 2009 Ford Taurus SEL-FWD the Pewag Snox Pro Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # PWSXP560 are an excellent choice. They are self-centering and auto-tensioning chains that are simple to install. They are SAE Class S chains which means they are designed... view full answer...
Yes, yes, and yes. The Thule Passage 2 trunk mount bike rack, # TH901XT, will fit the 2012 Ford Taurus sedan, the 2011 Dodge Durango, and the 2007 Volkswagen New Beetle (but will not fit convertible models). I have linked a video review of the bike rack for you to view.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # TH982XT. This will allow you to carry those bikes... view full answer...
I do have a trailer hitch recommendation for you 2001 Ford Taurus, however since the two models you're referring to are two different generations the hitch you have on the 92 will not fit.
I suggest, instead, the Curt Class II # C12232. It's custom fit for your Taurus and doesn't require any drilling to install.
For a new wiring harness, you will need the Curt # C55375. And a ball mount # C45522. Hitch ball # 19258 will fit the mount.
I've included videos of the items for you to... view full answer...

We have not installed the stone and bug deflector # WT50107 on a Ford Taurus so we do not have a picture. I checked with WeatherTech though and it basically covers the area between the headlights. The headlights on the vehicle curve in towards center from top to bottom and the deflector is contoured to match. WeatherTech has a picture but I am unable to take it from their site. view full answer...
You can use a hitch adapter like part # HTAD on your 2006 Taurus and it won't be illegal but you do need to pay attention that you aren't going over the weight capacities. Using an adapter lowers your hitch's capacity by 50 percent.
For the hitch I recommend part # C12232. Curt hitches have a thicker powder coat on them compared to others. Then you can use the adapter.
We may have another option for you if you can tell me what you plan to use the hitch for. view full answer...
