I would say either the dealer gave you a bad part, or the wrong part. The yellow wires should be attached to the driver side tail light to supply the driver side blinker signal. The other connector goes over to the passenger side tail light. On the passenger side, the red wire picks up brake light signal, brown wire picks up running/tail lights, green wire is the passenger side turn signal and the white wire is the ground.

You will need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to find the circuit that only sees voltage when the brakes are applied and use it for the stoplight circuit for the # 46365.
It sounds like maybe you haven't found the correct circuit to use yet and that is why the stoplights aren't working.

Sorry to hear that your bolts won't thread for your # e72TR installation. What you can do is use a M10 x 1.25 thread tap. The holes aren't always perfect but this will allow you to get the bolts that came with the hitch installed. I would not try to use a smaller bolt since it may not fit right, or at all, and you want your hitch to be secure.

I am sorry to hear you are having an issue with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56251 installed on your 2013 Kia Sportage.
