The hitches for your 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit have only 1-1/4 inch hitch openings and a 200 lb. tongue weight. I spoke with my contact at Hollywood Racks and he confirmed that the Hollywood Racks Express 3 Bike Rack # HRE3 has been tested with the 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit and there were no issues found as far as handlebars breaking the rear window, nor had my contact heard of this happening.

The new body style VW Rabbit was introduced to the US as a 2006 model. I do not have a listing for a 2005 VW Rabbit, just a Golf. You might check to see if your VW Rabbit might be a 2006 model.
