Just make sure that there is less than 11 inches from the hitch pin hole on your hitch to the edge of your bumper on your 2020 Mercedes GLS. Since you're wanting to go with crossbars longer than what any manufacturer has designed for your 2022 Mercedes GLS you'll need to go with a Yakima system since they're the only ones with a mounting track that runs the entire length of the crossbar.
