When we see this problem on your generation 2007 Chevy Silverado the problem is a blown CHMSL fuse. This fuse controls the third brake light circuit. I bet if you were to go out and watch as someone applied the brakes of your truck the third brake light above the bed would not illuminate.
The fuses in your truck are known for blowing quicker than most other vehicles. I wouldn't be surprised if your old brake controller may have malfunctioned and caused the fuse to blow. view full answer...
