If your Mini Cooper Clubman has an automatic transmission, it cannot be flat towed. If it's a John Cooper Works edition, there isn't a base plate available. In either case, you would need to use a tow dolly like the Roadmaster # RM-2050-1.

On a 2012 Mini Clubman you will have to trim the front fascia to install base plates on the vehicle. There is no modification you can do to get around it. If trimming is something you just do not want to do, or cannot do (if the vehicle is leased for example) then the best thing to do would be to use a small car trailer to carry the vehicle.

To flat tow any vehicle you would need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. Most of the equipment is generic but the base plate kit is specific. As of right now (January 2019) the only base plate kit that has been confirmed to fit a 2019 Mini Clubman is the Blue Ox # BX1315 and it is only compatible with S models of the Clubman.

I'll start off by saying that all of the Roadmaster Direct Connect base plates like the # RM-521885-5 require the use of a tow bar that slides directly into the hitch on your motorhome; you cannot use a tow bar that attaches to a hitch ball. I have a solution for you to carry bikes on your 2020 Mini Clubman, but the Thule Camber Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # TH9058 requires a trailer hitch on the rear of your vehicle; I'm not aware of an aftermarket hitch that is available to fit on the 2020 Mini Clubman. For this reason, the only option to carry bikes on your Mini Clubman would be with a roof rack and roof rack mounted bike carrier.
