Per the installation instructions for the Superwinch LT2000 ATV Winch, part # 1120210, the red wire from the handlebar switch is to be connected to the wire on the ignition switch that only shows current when the ignition is in the on position. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to be able to identify the correct wire.

The CIPA ATV Handlebar Mirror # CM11132 actually fits both the left and right sides so you can install it on whichever side is best for your application (right would be as if you were sitting on your ATV). view full answer...
The best way to extend the wiring would be to get 10 Gauge Blue Primary Wire, part # 10-1-1, to extend the wiring and then use a 12-10 Gauge Butt Connector, part # 05732-2, to connect the wires. And then finally wrap the connection with Electrical Tape.
That should give you the additional 12 inches you would need to connect your Superwinch LT2000 ATV Winch, part # 1120210, to your 2005 Yamaha Wolverine 350 FX.
