I went out to the warehouse to examine 2006 Toyota Tundra Hopkins Multi-Tow 7-Way Blade and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM43385. The back of the 7-Way part is molded and all one piece so it cannot be disconnected to allow a gooseneck wiring harness to be Teed in. This is common on the 7-Ways available for this truck.

A regular 5th wheel trailer pin box pivots at the king pin. A Sidewinder locks out that pivot point and moves it back 22 inches. The overall length of the Sidewinder and stock pin box may not be different but where the trailer actually pivots is the big difference.
