I don't see an issue with this as long as you're supporting the 5th wheel hitch so the weight of the hitch isn't pulling constantly at the jaw system. The 5th wheel hitch manufacturers didn't design the hitches to be stored this way but if you add support under it once your truck is out of the way it will be perfectly fine.

More than likely you have an actual short or something is loose. There should be no correlation between the trailer being hooked up to the ball mount of your truck and the trailer brakes. The only thing that really makes any sense is that there is a difference in angles between the two and it is enough for wiring to be in a different position triggering the error when lowered on the ball.

Most Trailer License Plate Lights with a Bracket like the Optronics # LPL55CB you found are only going to have 2 wires a power and ground for the light. It looks like yours has either an additional light for either a reverse light or brake light. Hello Rick. The Yakima Deepspace 10 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y65RR does have open mounting slots on the bottom. The box does not come with anything specifically for covering these slots. Gravity should be enough to keep most water out, but there would be nothing from preventing insects or anything from going in. Your best bet would be to get the clamps in place then add your own seal. Like you said a rubberized tape or sticker would do the trick.

The trouble you're experiencing with the Curt T-Connector # C55580 on your 2010 Toyota Sienna could either be on your trailer directly, or it could be that the converter box has gone out. The best way to figure out which part is the problem is to hook your trailer up to a different vehicle or use a circuit tester # PTW2993 to test the output side of the black box on the Curt wiring.

First we should sort out what you tested. If the only thing that came on was the 12V power then that is normal.
