Specs:

  • Application: front or rear coil spring suspensions
  • Designed to work with a suspension system that is in good working order
  • Coil SumoSprings will not increase your vehicle's weight-carrying capacity. Do not exceed the manufacturer's weight limit for your vehicle.
  • Limited Lifetime warranty
  • 30-Day satisfaction guarantee

Insert these helper springs in between the individual coil loops in either your front or rear coil springs to defeat driver fatigue and add better support for heavy loads. Most factory front coil suspensions have a difficult time supporting heavy front loads like winches, brush guards and snowplows. The rear coils may struggle with supporting the extra load placed on your rear axle when you're towing a trailer or using a hitch-mounted cargo carrier or bike rack. If your coil springs are totally squished under a load, the lack of shock absorption can be harsh on your backside, especially if you spend long hours sitting in your vehicle while clearing snow or driving to a campsite.

Coil SumoSpring installed between rungs of coil spring

Inside each helper spring, a core of microcellular polyurethane foam adds cushioning between your coils to make your ride more comfortable. Each doughnut-shaped spring has H-shaped channels at the top and bottom that fit to the rung of an individual coil in your front or rear coil springs. The cushioning absorbs shock, but also works progressively to better support weight, keeping your truck level.

Unlike air springs that fit inside your coil springs, these polyurethane springs require no air pressure monitoring, and they are easier to install. Say goodbye to air lines, valves and air tanks and hello to maintenance-free suspension support. Unbumpify your ride with Coil SumoSprings for coil suspensions.

Ok installed outside january 27th. Temp 10 degree windchill -5. I used canola oil since it stays slippery when cold. I recommend taking off the tires. Also wirebrush the coil spring to get rust and debris off. Coat coil spring in canola oil. Also 1997 crv rear will require about 3/4"-1" off of the helper spring before hand. The driver side took 15-20 mins the passenger less than 5. My car rear was sagging it sits level or slightly above level now in the rear. Mileage of vehicle is 73k shocks struts and springs are original. Curt class 3 hitch is also installed on vehicle. I am curious to see how it does while pulling a 5x8 trailer. Overall seems good only time will tell. Wondering how installing two on a side would do?

So far so good it eliminates sag while towing or having heavier objects in the vehicle.

by:

Working well to help us deal with a heavy trailer.

The Sumo Springs Custom Helper Springs I purchased and installed on my 2022 Winnebago Solis 59PX have made all the difference in the way the vehicle handles. I purchased both sets of helper springs for the front and rear. They have made a huge difference. I believe they are worth the price of the products.

by:

SumoSprings makes a great line of products. I have them on the rear of my vehicle and boat trailer as well.

by:

Great prices and customer service

by:

Very easy to install. Jack the vehicle up. Do not remove anything. Twist in lubed product. Ziptie them in. Remove the jack.

by:

Very easy to install, seemed to help in limiting squat while towing, and we noticed no change to ride quality when not towing.

2021 Highlander front with drive V6. Product is right on the money for description. My Bass boat is 3900lbs, definitely took a 1-1/4 out from the sag. Also, extremely less bounce. I would prefer to have air bags, though no one makes them for my year. This is a great alternative.

I have a 2015 Subaru Outback. When towing it went from a mushy rear end to a nice stiffness. Max tongue weight is 275# and with 220# on a recent trip (~2000# trailer weight) it only squatted the rear end about an inch (after rolling back and forth to let it settle).

Previously I was getting instability above 60mph especially when hitting the bumps at the ends of bridges. On my recent trip I was able to hit 80mph with the car feeling totally planted.

When totally empty you do get just the smallest hint of a 'truck like' ride but I typically carry some tools and other stuff all the time and that dampens it.

For install I found it helped to sort of feed the sumo into the coil as you kinda roll your hand over the part juming into the groove.

by:

Works exactly how I needed. The Ride is still very nice. There's about 350lbs with the weight of the box & rack. Suspension in the rear used to sag a bunch, even with a 2" suspension lift.

by:

Installation was a bit more difficult than anticipated, however, for an 81-year-old guy, most everything is. The SumoSprings work just fine. I feel like they've reduced the sway and increased stability while hauling our Tab320 trailer with our Subaru Outback. Service from eTrailer was fast.

by:

Installed the CSS-1168R Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper spacers on a 2011 Honda Ridgeline 4 wheel drive rear springs. Installation took about 45 minutes including removal of tires. Once spacer was started the installation was easy.
Zip ties were a little more difficult because of the dust strut covers installed by Honda.

by:

Shipping was fast and packaged well. The material looks and feels durable and easy to install but is a little loose on the springs, and not as snug as I thought. Although once I did a test drive around the neighborhood it tighten itself on the coil springs and hope it stays that way!

by:

Did not fit the 2022 Subaru Outback as advertised making these a total cash grab on etrailers part. Buyer Beware. Incorrect fitment guide means expensive mistake.

by:

I was very excited about these for my 4x4 2015 Nissan Frontier. I am not completely displeased with them because they do make a mild difference over bumps, but they aren't worth over 100 bucks no way, the fact that I had to CUT THEM to fit due to them being too long made me feel like the company does not due their research when manufacturing them. It was so long that it lapped the beginning on it, so in order to have them installed as shown on the instructions I had to cut nearly 3 inches off... Which meant I had to comely install them, mark then uninstall, cut to fit, then install again. For an item to cost this much I expected better build quality.

Bang for buck it's not worth it, it's overpriced and I wouldn't recommend them for that cost.

by:

Install went fairly easy once I figured out the best spot to put the jack to lift the van. Really helped to have an oil filter wrench to get the old springs off the back. Took it out for a drive after an much better cornering and much less effect from wind and 18-wheelers. This was on a fairly windy day. No big difference in softness of the ride.

by:

I ordered these for my RAM Promaster 3500 because I had heard from fellow owners that they are a worthwhile addition, for increased stability on the road. The instructions are good, and they weren’t too hard to install myself. They are kind of expensive for a couple of rings of dense foam/plastic, but I guess they must be petty heavy duty. I look forward to my next trip to see how they perform.

by:

Have had these in for a year. Easy to install. I did have to trim some off to install, but super easy with a razor knife. Bought these to help level out my Pacifica and they’re awesome. Fully loaded and it still squats a bit but no where near as bad as it used to. No effect on daily driving. If you’re thinking about it, just do it.

by:

The Sumo Springs installed easily and definitely hold up the back of the vehicle better and also firmed up the ride , now I want them for the front also. Great product!

by:

They seem to work as the back of my vehicle sag is not as noticeable with my trailer attached.

by:

Not easy to install. Took to a trailer shop for installation. Seem to stabilize my vehicle when towing, haven't towed after dark yet to see if oncoming traffic flash their lights at me.

by:

The installation was quick and easy. I did remove the tire to ease in the installation, it just made it easier for me. It took longer to stage the pictures for the review than install them. I took a measurement I think I gained a 1/4 to 1/2 inch in lift and doesn’t seem so floaty

by:

About all I can say for these is that they did raise the back of my Expedition EL about a 1/2". However, they didn't stay in place for even a year. As far as helping the ride of the truck with the travel trailer, I *think* it helped, but I really don't know if it is anything more than the placebo effect. I removed them before having Bilstein 5100 series shocks installed, with the spring collar set to raise .4", which did make a noticeable, positive difference in the way the truck handled when towing.

  • How To Prevent Sag While Towing With a 2015 Audi Q5
I do have a possible option for you but there are no known suspension enhancements for a 2015 Audi Q5 and the factory hitch cannot be used with a weight distribution system. Therefore, the only possible option we could provide are the Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs like part #CSS-1069. In order to confirm if there would be a part number that would work you'd need to measure the space between the coil on the rear coil springs. If you get back to me with this measurement I will see...

  • Determining Correct Suspension Enhancement For 2013 Nissan Juke SV
I may have another option but unfortunately there are no Timbren or Firestone suspension enhancement options confirmed to fit your 2013 Nissan Juke SV. The only option is to measure the spacing between the coils of your coil springs as depending on the amount of space you have there may be a Coil SumoSprings option. You will measure this distance with the vehicle on the ground, and you will want to make sure each side is within 1/4" of each other. I included a diagram of how to take this...

I'm glad to hear the kind words! The Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for Coil Spring Suspension # CSS-1069 will increase the coil spring capacity by 15% to 30% when installed. Since it is a part that works on multiple vehicle's there isn't a clear cut way to determine the exact weight or lift increase on your 2008 Ford F-250/F-350. • Will Coil Springs Help Reduce Vehicle Sag While Towing
Hey Steve, the Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for Coil Spring Suspension # CSS-1069 is definitely going to help, but ultimately the best way to reduce sag while towing is to use a weight distribution system. If you can let me know what your tongue weight is of your trailer when loaded up ready to roll, I'd be happy to make some suggestions I think you'll like. Or, if you'd rather use a tow vehicle suspension upgrade let me know what year your Audi Q5 is and I'll help you out there.

  • Are There Suspension Enhancements Available for the 2016 Jeep Cherokee
I may have a solution for you to help improve your towing experience and provide you with some added support, but the SumoSprings # CSS-1069 are not a confirmed fit on your 2016 Jeep Cherokee and there is not an available suspension enhancement for this vehicle. Instead I recommend using a weight distribution hitch, which will help reduce the strain on your rear suspension and help with any sag you might experience; we typically recommend using weight distribution any time that your trailer...

The spacing of that gap determines what springs you need. It is important to make this measurement on level ground to make sure the measurement is accurate.
