Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. Stable lumens builds off the idea of effective lumens by measuring the amount of light produced after 30 minutes of usage, or once the diodes have reached their average operating temperature. These bulbs have a 3,000 raw lumen capacity per bulb and produce 1,995 effective lumens per bulb. The stable lumen capacity per bulb is 1,550 lumens.

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be quick look at the H16/5202 style LED bulbs. Now these are going to be a great replacement for your OEM factory bulbs. They're going to be a lot brighter and more effective than your halogens and just help to give you a nice, bright light for your headlights. These are rated for use in the city and on the highway, so you don't have to worry about blinding anybody on the road. They are precision designed to throw that light in a specific pattern, so it shouldn't cause any issues with any glare for other drivers. So let's take a closer look at these and make sure that they're going to be the right fit for your application.
The nice thing about them is that they are just a plug and play design. So it should just plug right into your factory wiring, no worries about cutting or splicing or anything like that. And I'm actually going to mock up that connection with my little setup here. As I said, it's going to be plug and play, but I have this set up so I can actually show you what it looks like powered on.You want to be careful whenever you're hooking everything together with your wiring to make sure that you look out for the positive and negative side of the wiring because it is polarity sensitive. So you don't want to get those crossed and then end up damaging your light.
So I'll turn this guy on and you can see how bright the light will be. So a nice pretty bright light. And it is that cool white color that you can see there. And as I turn it to the side, that's what I mean about it having a precision design. So right where that sits it's going to prevent anybody from getting blinded by the light.
Same thing if you're looking at it straight on, prevents any kind of serious glare there. I'll actually expand my camera out so you can see a little bit better, how much this little light is lighting up my studio here. So very effective, bright light, definitely going to be nice addition to your vehicle to provide that headlight bulb. You can use this for your fog lights as well. And as you can see, again, it's going to be that nice cool white color. So that helps promote better visibility.
Our eyes just see that cool white color better than other temperatures of light. So it's a really nice addition or a really nice option for your headlights. So as far as other specs with this light, it does have this integrated thermal design so that's going to help to dissipate out the heat, keep it from getting too hot and causing any kind of premature failure. You can rotate this housing around to get that dialed in to the angle that you need for your particular housing. And there might be a chance that you will need a anti-flicker harness for this wiring. They are sold separately, you can find some options for that here at etrailer.com. The reason why you would need that is if you have CAN bus or PWM equipped vehicle it can cause some flickering with that light. So if that happens with your vehicle you might want to check those out here at etrailer.com.As far as the light output, per bulb we'll have 3000 lumens for our raw lumen output. The effective lumen output is 1995, or just under 2000 lumens. That's really the number to pay attention to since that's more the real world application for the lights or what you can actually expect to get out of them in the real world. That raw lumens is kind of a perfect world, perfect situation you can get that much. But after about 30 minutes of use it does drop down again a little bit to 1550 lumens. Still very bright light that should be effective for us.That color temperature is 6500 kelvins. So that's that cool white color that you saw. The wattage per bulb is 16.5 watts. Power drop 13 volts is 1.3 amps per bulb. Operating voltage is 7.5 volts up to 16 volts. And it does have a two year limited warranty. They are rated at IP six-seven. So that means that they're going to be protected from water and dust, so no issues with any kind of weather getting in there and causing any shorts or damage.Well, I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if these are the right bulbs for you. Again, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
