ARC 21071 Concept H7 LED Bulb Dimensions

Raw Lumens vs Effective Lumens vs Stable Lumens

Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. Stable lumens builds off the idea of effective lumens by measuring the amount of light produced after 30 minutes of usage, or once the diodes have reached their average operating temperature. These bulbs have a 3,000 raw lumen capacity per bulb and produce 1,995 effective lumens per bulb. The stable lumen capacity per bulb is 1,550 lumens.

Video Transcript for Review of ARC Vehicle Lights - Replacement Bulbs - ARC69FR

Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the led light bulbs. These are going to be a replacement bulb for your vehicle. These are the H7 styles. So, this should match up with your factory wiring to find out if this is a fit for your particular vehicle. The easiest way to do that is to look at our fit guide if you haven't already done.

So it's going to be that bar at the top of the page that allows you to put in your vehicle your year, make and model. And then you can go from there to find the category of replacement bulbs for your vehicle. So if you haven't already done, so definitely do that to make sure that this is a fit for your vehicle. The nice thing about these bulbs is that they are a big upgrade over typically what comes in your vehicle. It's going to be a nice, bright light as a cool white light. So that helps to make things more visible.

Your eye kind of goes towards that cooler side of the spectrum. It's a little easier to see things, especially at night, and this is also precision made so that it's going to throw the light farther than your typical light or your typical bulb. So it's going to give you a better visibility at a better light temperature or color temperature than you normally get from your factory bulbs. So, let's take a little closer look at these guys. They also have a really nice design to eliminate any worries about overheating. You can see down here, we kind of have these little stacked fins.

This is made out of an aluminum construction. So, that helps to dissipate heat really well. And it makes sure that they don't have any problems with overheating, which also helps to prevent any kind of premature failures from the lights. I'm going to hook these up to power and ground. So you can actually see how bright they are.

Now. Like I mentioned, this is just going to plug into your factory wiring. So you will not have to use these little alligator clamps like I do, but that's what I got because I don't have a vehicle. So you can see really nice, bright light, turn out the lights in the studio. And this really does throw the light very far. And you could also tell it's that really cool, pure white color. So it doesn't distort. Anything helps to promote that visibility out on the road. These are designed for city use, so they can be used for your low beam headlights. They're fine to use on the highway. They shouldn't have any issues. You shouldn't really be blinding other drivers with these guys. So safety to use, Otherwise. For pretty much anywhere that you want to use them. As far as the application for these, if you have a can bus system or a PWM equipped vehicle, you will need a harness to go with these. It does not come with one, but you can pick one up using the partner that you see there on the screen, and you can also get the bulbs and that harness as a kit, which can sometimes save you a little bit of money. Just kind of depends on the time of year or what's going on with them. But that's an option for you if you just want to get it all in one, or if you want to add it on later, if you figure out that you actually do need it, that's an option that you can use as well. It also comes with instructions on the bulbs and fun sticker, and we also have two little hex keys or Allen wrenches and also two small set screws. So that helps you to adjust the angle of the beam. There's a little set screw in here, so you can turn this to get it where you need it to be. And these are just going to be replacements if you happen to lose that little guy. So it does come in a little baggy so that you don't have to worry about these just floating around loose, does have a bag for those to live in.So it makes it a little bit easier to keep them together. As far as the specs, they are rated at IP 67. So that means that they're dust proof and waterproof. For the most part, they're waterproof up to being sprayed with powerful jets. So that's where it gets that name. They're not submersible, but should be up to the task for just about any kind of weather. You really shouldn't have to worry about any water getting in there. And also they are shock resistant. You do get the two bulbs. The output per bulb is going to be 3000 lumens for the raw output and 1,995 lumens for the effective output, which drops down to 1,550 lumens for this stable rating or after about 30 minutes of usage. Basically the difference between those numbers, the raw lumens is what it's capable of in a perfect world with no interference from anything else. The effective lumens is more the real-world application. And then usually after about 30 minutes, there's a little bit of a drop in the power output. So that's kind of more the lumens to expect still very nice, bright light, definitely going to give you a better visibility than what comes in your vehicle from the factory. So you're definitely getting an improvement with these guys. Again, the color temperature is 6,500 Kelvin, which is that cool white color temperature. The wattage per bulb is 16.5 Watts. The power draw at 13 volts is 1.3 amps per bulb. And we have an operating range between one or 7.5 volts in 16 volts. They are covered by a two year limited warranty. And that's really about all there is to it to talk about what these volts, I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if these are the right ones for you. Again, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
