Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this UWS bright aluminum wedge series, truck bed chest with offset lid. If you are looking for a truck toolbox that's gonna give you the extra storage without the look of an over the rail crossover toolbox, the chest style is a perfect solution. Much like the standard tool boxes, this chest will sit flush against the front of the truck bed and the wedge shape allows it to fit around the wheel well freeing up more space in your truck bed. Now this truck box, this truck tool box uses these heavy duty stainless steel paddle lock lift handles on both sides as you can see here as well. And that stainless steel will provide the corrosion resistance and the connecting rod is going to allow for convenient operation from both passenger side and driver side.

And one of the features that I like about these UWS boxes is there is a internal rod enclosure that is gonna help prevent the bending or jamming of that rod. So when you're throwing in your heavy tools or you're throwing in your cargo here, you're not going to bend that rod in here because of that enclosure. So that's a great feature of UWS's boxes. Now the lock is on the driver's side here. As you can see and what's nice about this is you're not gonna have to worry about going over to the passenger side.

This lock is going to lock both the driver and the passenger side locks. You do get two keys as you can see here. And before you jump into the cab of your truck, you can just easily lock that up and both of those lift lock handles are going to be locked and your contents will be secure. Now, two heavy duty gas cylinders are going to lift this lid open and hold it open and it can open a full 90 degrees to allow full access to your tools and your cargo inside this box. And this 60-inch long tool box has a total inside capacity of 11.8 cubic feet.

And you're gonna have plenty of room for tool boxes, your larger tools and other things that you throw in here. It's a nice wide open space. I put the instructions down here so you can kind of just see how deep this is down here. And this is gonna take a lot of punishment when you throw in your heavier items. You're not gonna have to worry about banging up the inside of this.

It's going to be able to take that punishment. Now on the inside lid, Let me go back to this view. I think you can probably see it a little bit better. On the inside of the lid is this micro seal gasket that is gonna help seal out moisture and dust and dirt. And there is an offset piano hinge that runs the entire length of this tool box and this kind of gives you a view a little bit of behind the lid and what this looks like. And this is what it looks like closed. Again, you don't have to push down hard on these lids. You don't have to slam them shut, a firm push and this will latch on both ends and then you can see it open once more. Now this tool box features a beveled lid that is foam filled and the solid foam strengthens it against bending or warping. That's another feature that I really appreciate about these UWS boxes is they are foam filled to increase the durability and the stability especially of the lid. So it's gonna be reinforced. You're not gonna have to worry about this lid caving in. And actually if you look closely, you can see the ports where they filled in the lid with the foam and you got a little foam hanging off right here. So, that's a another great feature of these UWS boxes. Now this is an extra thick aluminum tread plate construction with this bright aluminum finish. So it is rustproof and it features fully welded seams. So again, very durable, very strong. This weighs about 42 pounds. And let me give you some overall dimensions. The overall length, we're gonna be sitting right at about 60 and 3/4 inches long. The overall height, we're gonna be sitting right at about 18 inches tall. You will wanna add an inch to those dimensions to figure the clearance for the lid. And then the width, the width of the lid is gonna be right at about 18 inches wide. And then at the widest point here, we're gonna be sitting at about 20 inches and then the base, which it kind of wedges down here just a little bit, the width of the base we're gonna be sitting right at about 17 and 3/8 inches wide at that base. This does have a limited lifetime warranty. And again, I think you're gonna be really happy if you decide to go with UWS's tool boxes. If you're looking for a more premium option, we do also carry Weatherguard, which in my mind carries more premium features such as an upgraded weather trim, a weather seal on the inside of the box, the ability to add keyless entry to the lid, tie downs in the front for straps and that those are some more premium features that you would find in a Weatherguard box. But if that's not something that you're interested in, you're gonna do great with a UWS box. Again, this is in this bright aluminum finish.
