Have not slept in it but it fits and all etrailer interaction was very satisfactory

Excellent product! This makes so much sense to Mud Bogger like me. Cleaning tents when you get home is no fun.

The first time I set this up it didn't look and feel right but every time after that fit like a glove. First setup was rushed because it was about to rain. The tail gate section had too much tension to where it compressed the entrance and made it difficult to use the zipper. I went off the instructions on the box and they’re vague compared to the instructions sewn into the bag. The main thing they stress in the instructions is keeping the seam lined up with the edge of your bed and the inner flap inside your bed. Once you properly line that up make sure the orange straps go over the tail light inside the bed and through the slit between your tailgate and bed. These straps are critical in placement as they pull the seams towards the inside of your bed. Last key point is the two black straps at the end of the bed. One will pull the tent straight down onto your fender and the other one will be at an angle pulling the corner flap towards the front of the truck(I secured it to leaf spring). Just like in the instructions they will cross over into an “A” shape. Before tightening all the straps open the tent and remove any slack from the interior flap that hangs over the bed rail. If you’ve done it correctly the two pockets will hang down inside your bed and not outside. I setup the tent by myself and did not have to force the poles like before. Also I have a bed cover that rolls up and had no issues leaving it in there. Follow the instructions to the T and I guarantee you will be pleased with the results!

by:

Kinda stressful putting it up the first time. The next time should be a lot easier. By the time vacation is over we will be professional tent assembly people!!! Love it and can't wait to use it. Very goid quality materials.

by:

Took about 30 minutes after I read the directions. Looks great. I am ready to give it a go!

by:

Worked great

by:

Excellent instructions, relatively easy install. Great fit.

by:

Y’all... seriously. I cannot wait to actually test this sucker out! 20 min to put up! Easy peasy! And goes back in the bag easy! (2017 Tacoma 5’ bed) fits like a glove. Have to really man-handle the last orange rod in but I got it perfectly.

by:

1st time erecting the Rightline Truck Tent took me about 45 minutes, mainly because I had difficulty getting the orange-marked tent poles into their pockets, and didn’t want to force things. I read all of the materials again and made sure that I have the right size tent for my 2008 Tacoma Access Cab pickup with a 6 ft box.
Then I pulled it all down and thought about it for a day.
I’m not sure that I had the inner flap seam even with the top of the bed rail (mentioned several times in the instructions), so I started again from scratch. Much easier the 2nd time, more like 15-20 minutes, and I was able to make one improvement with the orange straps referenced in Fig 9, 10, 11, and 12. My truck has a metal hold-down loop in each corner of the bed, so I could go straight to Fig 13, and 14, attach the straps directly to the inside rear corners of the bed, left and right, and end up with something that looks very much like Fig 14. See attached photo “orange strap”.
Both the 1st and 2nd time were in my 2-car garage, with a new 2014 Camry in the other bay, and very little room to walk around. Plus I was dead scared of spearing the Camry with the overhanging tent poles. The 3rd time will be in the open and I’m shooting for 5-10 minutes. I also have a Truck-bedz air mattress which I have tested (unpack, inflate, 2 days and nights without air loss, deflate, fold and re-pack).
The big thing that I learned (finally) is to “have the inner flap seam even with the top of the bed rail”. In my case I had a section of the inner flap caught under a corner of the narrow plastic molding that protects the top of the truck bed. Check this, and once you get it right there is peace in the land - the tent fits squarely onto the bed, the tent poles fit snugly into the pockets, and the long zippers around the no-see-um mesh rear door run smoothly.

Great product that fit my needs for camping in FL. rain and humidity were no problem. Good ventilation even with rain fly, and off the ground with queen sized air bed inside, fit great, no floor is easy set-up, once I got the hang of it, lol.
10 min set-up, 5 min tear down and pack up. Love it.

I use camping gear pretty hard and this bed tent has survived a year of my hard use, spring and fall, thanks so much.

Plenty of room inside, never feel claustrophobic, off the ground away from the crawlies and critters, yay.

Would buy again.

Here's my 2017 Toyota Tacoma truck with your tent! Thanks!

by:

We have a Nissan Frontier pro4X with a five foot bed. We can’t zip up the tent or at least it is VERY difficult. Maybe this tent is not compatible with our truck? Either way I was excited about the concept of the text but we can’t use it because zipping it is too difficult.

by:

Wow, great product! Was not very challenging to install by myself even the first time. Fit was a little off but this maybe due to my bed cover rails. Coverage was right on and it did a great job blocking out the wind even with 10 to 15 mph winds. Keep me dry! VERY important! Dried out quickly even in below 60 degree temps. Received numerous interest and praise for the look and fit on my Gladiator. I wish I would’ve thought to take pictures because it looks kickass of my Gladiator. I drove around the campsite with it up not recommended by manufacturer but at under 20 mph and tide down properly it was not an issue for me. I could do a separate review just on customer service... simply FANTASTIC both Michelle and Hanna were super awesome and supportive. The product got to me quickly. I can’t recommend the mattress and tent highly enough. Now let me say this I am a big guy 250ish and I would prefer a thicker bed but this kept me off the floor boards and comfortable. Oh yeah these products actually folded up well and went back into the provided bags easily. Ok that about sums it up; I would purchase again absolutely.

very easy to set up and fit perfect

I bought the Rightline Truck Bed Tent for my son for his birthday. He has his father's 1993 Ford F150 and the tent fit perfectly. The first time he set it up it took about 45 minutes but only took about 20 minutes the second time. He loves it! He slept in it with the truck parked in the driveway the first night he got it. I was a little worried that it didn't have a floor but the sides fit snugly around and over the sides of the truck bed so there shouldn't be an issue if it rains, and it makes it much easier to set the tent up quickly if it is raining--no emptying the truck first. The interior is roomy enough that he can use a cot for sleeping and it's tall enough that he can sit upright in a folding chair inside the tent. Overall, we're very happy with the tent. As usual with etrailer, the shipping was quick and price was reasonable. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking at truck bed tents.

by:

Looking forward to my next outing! Short of discovering a slit loop for one of the support bows in my initial use, I was extremely pleased.
Following my discovery, I contacted etrailer and the manufacture where I was able to return for repair at no charge to me. Will see how this years outing goes Am positive all will be fine.

by:

I just received my westin tailgate ladder and rightline bed tent. Great packaging, no damage to items. We still have snow on the ground so probably will not be able to check out the tent for a week or so. The ladder looks and feels great. Well made, good bracing on steps and looks like a very easy install---thanks e-trailer

by:

Ok so this was delivered on time and the product is amazing. Etrailer.com had a good price and IT WAS IN STOCK. for whatever reason i had issues on other sites getting this bought. (out of stock on nearly every site). Etrailer was easy and quick. The only reason i didnt give them 5 stars is i never got any emails saying that a shipping label was created, when it was shipped out etc. Otherwise it came a day before or the day of stated delivery. IF i hadnt checked my order status id never have known it was actually coming today. So thats the one critique id have.

by:

1 year on and I have nothing but good things to say about this tent. I've used it about 5 times and never any problems.

1 piece of advice..... If you're camping in the summer, try and find shade to park under. Like all tents, it can get pretty stuffy in direct sunlight.

by:

This is a must have item if you plan on going tent camping, and don't wish to be on the ground.
Tent was extremely easy to setup, and a perfect fit for my 22' Colorado.

Construction was robust, and the tent poles were color coded.

Be sure to align the seams with the bed rails for best fit!

by:

Love it. Threw in my airbed and sleeping bags, made sure truck was level. Protection and privacy. Excellent service also

by:

The service from ETrailer is so wonderful, I am a customer for life and have told all of my friends about how well I've been treated.Fantastic product, it is so sturdy and well built, just pure quality all round. I am so happy with this tent, it fits like a glove.

by:

Great service and fast shipping. There was an issue with the shipping of an item and etrailer was right on top of it and ensured I got what I ordered and on time. Thanks again guys and keep up the great customer service! I wish more companies had your service.

I ordered this for my Uncle and he absolutely loves it!! He has a Toyota Tacoma and it fits perfectly.

  • Is BAKFlip Tonneau Cover Compatible with Rightline Truck Bed Tent on a 2016 Ford F-150
Yes, since your BAKFlip tonneau cover, like the G2 # BAK26329, has rails that sit inside the bedrails of your 2016 Ford F-150 the Rightline Truck Bed Tent # RL110750 is compatible with it. Please note that you will want to open up the tonneau cover prior to installing the tent as you may not be able to open it with the tent installed. The Rightline tent you referenced fits a 5-1/2' bed. Just be sure that your F-150 has the 5-1/2' bed and you're good to go! If you have the 6-1/2' bed then...

For your 2019 Toyota Tacoma with a 5 foot bed that has a tonneau cover that fold up in thirds the cover you'd still want is the part # RL110765 which is for the 5 foot bed. Ideally I think you'll want to remove the tonneau when you are camping so that you have more room in the bed of your truck when camping but if you left yours installed this would still work well and would fit around the cover. The tent is not a super tight fit so any additional room your cover might take up would easily...

The tent attaches to the top of the bed rail but can also work around products installed on the rail due to it's universal nature. If you check out the video I attached you can see how it installs in a similar truck.

  • Can Rightline Truck Tents Stand Up to High Wind
I can't confidently recommend the Rightline tents in higher wind like you mentioned. We've not had any feedback that indicates wind was an issue but we also haven't had anyone come back and say their tent did well in really high wind. 55 mph wind typically will cause shingles on roofs to blow off and can uproot trees so I would not recommend any tent for that type of wind. Most likely below 30 mph would be okay but would still be hard to sleep through.

Since the Rightline Truck Bed Tent # RL110710 doesn't utilize any installation points inside of the truck bed, as long as your tonneau cover sits inside the rails of your 2017 Ram 2500 I don't see any problems. You will want to make sure you fold your tonneau before putting the tent up as it isn't guaranteed that you will be able to do that once the truck bed tent is all put together.
