First of all, it turned out pretty well.

However,
after the tracks arrived in distressed packing (see photo), I worried I'd need to return and start over, but fortunately, the contents of the package were undamaged. Then, since the holes for the T-bolts to secure the tracks required a 6.5mm drill, I had to order one before starting the installation process. Another $x for the two drills. Then carefully measuring and double checking that there was clearance underneath for attaching the knobs, and then I triple checked the measurements again. The most important one is the 15mm measure from the ends of the tracks for the first T-bolt at each end of the tracks. The other holes are not as critical since you are able to slide the T-bolts in the track to align with its corresponding hole. I did add a bit of silicone on the holes for extra leak prevention. Probably, unnecessary. At first I thought these tracks could have been a bit longer for my camper shell on a 5' bed, however once installed, they look pretty good (see photos). Now, if I'm able to install roof basket that attaches with my new tracks, I'll be very happy.

I ordered these to use on a 1975 VW Westfalia Bus. I installed the tracks backward (sloped side facing in) because it fit the top better. Very easy to install and looks great. I am able to quickly remove the racks so I can put the cover on the bus. When we use the bus it takes 5 minutes to snap the rack back on. Great system.

by:

I used one of these tracks to mount to the back of the cap on my pickup so I could mount a Rhino Rack awning. Parts and hardware seem great! Mounting instructions were clear and easy. Drilled some holes and tightened a couple bolts and I'm ready to roll.

by:

Easy install. Great customer service.

by:

I wanted to use my Rhino-Rack bars and accessories, although I did not want a bed cover on my new RAM 2500. So I mounted these Roof Rack Tracks directly to the bed rails. They fit perfectly, I only had to separate the nyloc nuts from the plastic knobs which did not fit under the rail.

Purchased RTC tracks to install on new truck cap, previously had Yakima tracks on old truck. Rhino track system is definitely superior to, more user friendly and cheaper then yakima. A bonus, I was also able to reuse my yakima rail riders with the Rhino track rails. Product arrive quickly and in good condition.
Reason I did not give 4 stars was etrailer sent 2 left rails, at first they were very understanding and were going to send out correct rail. Then they said no, just flip one rail around, despite directions saying to face both slots to rear. Long story short contacted Rhino Racks, they agreed to send me out correct rails.

Installed 71” RTC-18 on my 2008 Tundra Double Cab camper shell. 6’5” length bed on this truck. Installation was kind of a pain, but I got it done. Everything is secure and the tracks are high quality. I plan to mount a Prinsu style aluminum rack to these tracks, kayak rack, rocket box, ski/snowboard racks, plywood, etc.

Custom built a mixed Rhino-Rack and Thule bike carrier. Started with the RTC tracks, added Rhino-Rack crossbars, then Thule bike carriers. Customer support was very helpful in getting compatible parts. Took some ingenuity on my part, too, but I love the way it turned out!

by:

Overall pleased with the product. The rails were solid and I was able to shorten them for my application. My only complaint is the rubber gaskets could be a little easier to apply as mine were somewhat melted in the box. Installation was not difficult assuming you can measure and take your time. I mounted some Yakima landing pads on them with Yakima feet and bars.

Rhino tracks are great - I installed on my truck topper per the great instructions that were included (see photos). The tracks flexed to meet the contours of my topper. All bolts are hidden by track and were long enough to go through topper where special knobbed nuts are used to secure. Total install took about three hours.

etrailer customer service came through to resolve several challenges on this order:
- I initially ordered Yakima tracks. There were long shipping times, so etrailer recommended different compatible tracks from Rhino that were $40 cheaper!
- the initial shipment had not arrived in nearly three weeks with no USPS shipping updates. etrailer sent a second set of tracks via a different shipper that arrived in a few days.
- unfortunately the replacement tracks were incorrect - too long and endcaps were missing.
- while eTrailer was arranging to resend the endcaps, the original USPS order arrived with the correct tracks and all parts.
- eTrailer had me keep the correct tracks and parts, and send me a label to ship the incorrect tracks back to them.

All of these interactions were made with very professional and friendly customer service staff. I felt like I was a valued customer!

I mounted these rails in a non-traditional manner (on top of my truck bed caps so that I could crossbars that spanned over my existing tonneau cover). No one I talked with had actually done this type of installation before. The only problems I ran into were: 1) I had to cut the rails approximately 1/2 inch to ensure the through-bolts did not interfere with existing cap hardware, and; 2) The "Nyloc Nuts" were too wide to use so I just substituted a nut, lock washer and flat washer to compensate. Other than that, the installation took a while but came out great. And the RRRL T600 feet work perfectly with the rails. See the attached photo for the complete installation (with bikes attached) and a second photo with the rack removed by using the quick release feet.

Roof rack tracks are great and easy to install. The instructions provided online help and are very detailed. The tracks are of sturdy aluminum. These tracks helped with installation of my Uptop Roof rack.

by:

Added the 63" track to my bed rails. Fairly easy installation but required some different hardware based on the application. Some areas didn't allow enough room for the knob so used washers instead with the nyloc nut from the knob. Beware the overall length is roughly 5 inches longer with the end caps (~68"). I had to cut about an inch from the rail to fit between my bull rings but knew there would be a chance of modification needed for the intended use. etrailer has great information and fast shipping.

by:

I just installed these tracks and have not used them yet. They seem pretty solid. The install took a few hours, a good part of which was building up the courage to drill 16 holes in my roof.

With this set up one needs to take a little extra time on the layout, but the finished product looks nice.

I gave 4 stars because the extra width of the tracks first work well for me. My top falls away slightly before the edge, so the outside edge of the track has a 1/16 to an 1/8 inch gap. I don't think it shows in the picture.

I'm planning to use these with Yakima towers, but am waiting on the parts I need.

by:

These are exactly what I needed to put rails on my camper shell to mount the roof rack that I wanted. Thanks!

by:

Very well packed and supported. Follow up was also good. The extrusion looks a bit thin, but otherwise well made.

by:

Decent product, terrible purchasing experience

Product
- These are well-made and met my expectations
Service - It took three tries to order because the payment system is terrible and kept rejecting my credit card because my address was wrong (it wasn't). I was forced to use PayPal for the first time in 20+ years which is ridiculous.
Packaging - The box arrived broken in half and was taped back together at the post office. The parts bag had numerous cuts in it and 4 O-rings were missing.

Luckily the missing parts are easy to locate at any hardware store, but would have been a real inconvenience if something else was missing.

by:

Superb customer service start to finish.

by:

Excellent service. I have ordered many items and found etrailer always dependable, prompt, courteous.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for I’ll follow up when I get the racks and some bikes and boats on it. Measure twice drill once bolt holes must be exact on the f150

by:

Great tracks. They fit well on my 6-foot 04 Tundra Camper. I paired them with adjustable feet & crossbars from Sherpa Equipment. The combo is perfect. Thx etrailer. The tracks arrived in good condition and on time. Would definitely recommend if anyone is looking for affordable tracks.

Not real happy with this product.

Rhino
Rack Rails look OK, but install was challenging. Basically had to replace all installation hardware.

T-bolts that hold rack to roof were too short (only 1-inch lgt.; needed 1-1/2 inch lgt.) to reach completely through roof of topper. Had to improvise with additional bolts (elevator bolts, with large diam., flat heads, new lock nuts, washers, etc. Total of $15.21 in additional hardware, plus grinding and filing heads of new elevator bolts to fit slots in the rails. Solution should hold rails on fine; but cost me extra $$ and several hours extra work.

Next step is feet and crossbars.

by:

great addition to allow me to move my roof rack around

This review is given after 1 week of use. Please take it for what it is worth without knowing the long-term performance of the product.

The good.
The package arrived a few days after ordering without delays.
All parts were properly packaged and all quantities were correct.
The rails seem sturdy and the finish appears that it will hold up over time.
The rails have a clean factory type look. I mounted them on the bed rails of my Jeep Gladiator.
They fit nicely next to my hard tri-fold tonneau cover frame.
The dimensions given online were accurate.

The not so good.
The descriptions online made me feel like this was a "universal" size track. It is not. It seems as though all of the major brands have proprietary T-bolt sizes. I am currently using elevator bolts that I hit with the bench grinder to hold accessories until I can find a good fit.

by:

etrailer is great! This is a Rhinorack two star review. First of al the t-bolts were not long enough to reach through the topper. Secondly I received 10 bolts, 9 nuts, 6 o-rings and 8 butyl patches. Whoever is packaging the products can't perform the one task they are in charge of...counting! I would have ordered the Thule tracks had they been in stock anywhere, I will not be ordering any more products from Rhino though.

  • Could Prinsu Roof Platform Fit Rhino Rack Roof Fit Rhino Rack Roof Track RTC95JW
The Rhino Rack Roof Rack Tracks part # RTC95JW are compatible with standard roof rack feet that were designed to attach to a roof track. While we don't carry the Prinsu roof racks we can say this would work if the rack/platform was designed for attaching to channels/tracks.

  • Are There Rails Available For Installing a Roof Rack on a Vehicle
We do have rails like the Rhino-Rack RTC-Style Roof Rack Tracks # RTC14 which mount to naked roof vehicles. These rails will allow you to use Track Mount RLTF Legs # RLTF and Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty square and Aero oval crossbars like the Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack Crossbars # RB1375B-2 or the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA126B-2. • Track Mount Roof Rack for a 2005 Ford F-150 SuperCab
The roof on your 2005 Ford F-150 is fairly flat so a track system can be installed. The tracks you have selected # RTC95JW will work. And the Track Mount RLCP Legs # RTS508 will fit the tracks and bar # RB1650B will fit the feet. If you went with the rivet style you will have to put more holes in the roof for the tracks which means more work and more potential places where moisture can get in so the system you have selected is better in that regard and will work well for you.
