Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the K-Source replacement side view mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for the driver's side factory mirror on several different models and year ranges of your Fords and Lincolns. You can see the full list there on the screen, so if you see your year, make, and model of vehicle on the screen there, you can trust that this is going to work for you. It's going to be very easy to get replaced on your vehicle.

It is modeled after their vehicles original look and fit. So you're really not going to be able to tell that this is a replacement mirror. It's going to look like it came with your vehicle right from the factory, so it's going to integrate well. You're not going to have to worry about it looking like you've pieced together parts from a junk yard or anything like that.Just like your original, this does have the power remote capability, so you can adjust the mirror face position with the factory power controls inside your vehicle as long as your vehicle is already capable of doing that. If your original mirror could do it, this one will do it.

It just won't add those features if your vehicle is not already capable of it. This does not have a turn signal on it, so it doesn't have that capability. If your original did, you might have a little bit less functionality here, but overall, I think it's going to be a great replacement for you. This is an OE grade product, so it's going to have the same quality materials as your original. The front of the glass is plated with a reflective chrome, so it's going to give you that nice, clear image.

It is a flat lens, like most of your driver's side mirrors are, so that you have a true representation of the object size behind you, so it's safer as you're changing lanes or turning, making sure that you have awareness of all the objects, vehicles, people around you.This does have the breakaway design, so it's going to fold in on itself if you we're to bump into a parking post or the side of your garage, something like that. It's going to fold in to try and help absorb some of that shock and impact to minimize the amount of damage to the mirror and housing itself. But it is a very durable black plastic housing. You can see on the back here, we do have our chrome finish, so it's going to integrate well with our vehicle and look nice for us. As far as the installation, it's going to be extremely simple.

We have the same footprint as our original mirror. So basically, all we're going to have to do is take the old mirror off, put this one in its place, tighten down a few bolts, nuts, and we're ready to go. If you have the power remote capability, you'll just plug this wiring into the same port as the original mirror, and that's about all there is to it.It's very simple. You're not going to have to drill new holes or anything like that, so that's one of the main benefits of this kind of mirror. For those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance that this is going to work for your vehicle, this is a direct replacement for the original equipment number that you see on the screen there. So if you open up your owner's manual, you look through, you see that number, you can rest assured that this is the replacement part that you need for that mirror. And this is just the driver's side.
