Adam : What's going on everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today we are not going to be taking a look at the normal, basic ratchet strap. Nope. Today, what we're going to be doing is taking a look at the quick loader ratchet straps. First things first, let's just go ahead and show you guys how to hook up your guys' tractor with the quick loading straps. What we're going to do after that, is pretty much just go over some features as we're hooking them up, but then also we're going to go check out the other side.

We don't have a quick loader strap over there so you guys can see the difference, and trust me after messing with these quick loader straps, major difference and I really don't think I'll buy a normal ratchet strap anytime soon.So let's go ahead and get started. We are going to get the flat hooks. These are going to be about two inches wide, and we are going to have about 27 foot of strap. So, what I usually do, I just like this a little better just to kind of go through the pocket, come up and around and clamp back down on there because I just like this just because we add a little bit material over here. So the strap isn't really completely having such a hard angle and that's just going to be a little hard on our strap here.

As you can see, it's starting to kind of wear away after use, but with this, I don't really think we'll have any issues.So pretty much put that in first and then all we need to do is go to the ratcheting portion of the strap and we have a little lever here. However you guys want to do it, it's going to be easy to just kind of slide that down, be able to actually loosen all that up. And then we could go ahead and pull this through. And what I'm going to do is, since I'm going to be wrapping around the axle, I'm just going to go ahead and put a little axle guard on there and just kind of hook and loop with these flat hooks too. You guys are going to get a protector for whatever you guys are wrapping around.

I would definitely suggest one that comes apart like this, just because it is going to be somewhat difficult to slide some of the smaller ones over it.So let's go ahead and put this on real quick. Perfect. This is just going to protect anything from happening to my tractor because it's quite expensive equipment. So, pretty easy to do it by yourself. You don't really have to worry about anything else, somewhat easy.

Kind of just go underneath, wrap it back around. We do want to make sure that this protector is going to stay on there. We might have to mess with it a little bit to get it to kind of slide down on that strap. It does have a good grip on it so that is definitely a plus. So I want to go up and around the axle and I'm going to end up going to this little pocket right here.mI do that because you guys can kind of notice the angle from where we're tying it down on the tractor, to where we're turning it down on the trailer, it's about 45 degrees. That's our goal here just because it's going to be putting some force forward on the tractor. We're going to have two up front and then one in the back pulling backwards on it at a 45 degree angle. It's not really going to go anywhere. So that's why I'm doing that to kind of get it where you want it. The nice thing about this, whenever we're done, just go ahead, help it out a little bit. It's not going to do all the work for you. Put enough to make the job a lot quicker. So now I really like this feature just because the lever it's huge. We have massive equipment. So with the massive lever, we're not really going to have to put hardly any pressure on it to get it nice and tight and that's something I really like.All right. Well, it seems like it's nice and tight, but I'm really not putting a whole lot of pressure on this lever just because it's so big, but it is not going to go anywhere. So let's go ahead and go around the other side and you guys can see what a normal ratchet strap looks like under this rig. When it comes to hauling my stuff around, I'm kind of proud of it. You know, you spent good money on the tractor. You get good work done. Sometimes it's even going to pay your guys' bills. So whenever I haul it somewhere, I want to be proud of it. I want everybody to look at it and see how nice it is and see how I actually know how to tie stuff down. I don't necessarily like this. This isn't necessarily something I'd like at all. Just because one, I have to mess with all these straps at the very end, figure out what to do it with.Sometimes people go and loop it around something else and tie it down. But even just this, having excess strap, if you guys are on the highway, literally it does so much damage when it's just flapping around, especially at highway speeds. It really is going to do some damage on whatever it may be. Honestly, I just don't necessarily like the looks of this And of course it was a lot harder to get all tied down and stuff. I had to get it all up and around, like we did up there, but then I had to get everything tight by sometimes these hooks don't necessarily want to stay in there. So all in all, doesn't look near as good. And honestly, I'm just not as confident with these not coming undone. We have enough excess here.I've had it happen once, this is a true story, one time I had a bunch of excess strap and it was just chilling here and it came on done and it came all the way back, came all the way back and it went underneath my wheel and also my wheels just starts tugging on it and tugging on it. That was the end of that ratchet strap. So, we want to avoid that and with the quick loader straps, I don't really think we're going to have that issue whatsoever.Let's just go ahead and assume we just got to the job site or home. Pretty much, we just need to unload the tractor. So, let's go ahead and see how quick it is to unload. So what I do is just grab this big lever, open it up, keep that lever nice and opened up because if it does, when it's open, this little bracket goes down, makes everything nice and free. And then we're going to take this little lever here and rotate it to where there's going to be a straight shot in between there. So now, that is working very, very nicely. So I'm going to go ahead and. Let's just do this.Pretty much. Go ahead. Take all this out. And this axle protector does not come with these straps. We actually picked them up separate. Bulldog makes them, and you're going to have to take them off to put this thing away. So now you just make sure it's nice and straight. Done deal. Pretty much done. Okay. Nice and neat.So now let's go on the other side and see how that goes. Same size strap, same length. So this is pretty much the amount of length we would be messing with if we weren't using a quick loader strap, but let's just go ahead and undo this one. These are a little bit older ratchet straps. So they're a little seized up. That's why we're a little bit difficult to work with, but still. All right.I would definitely recommend that axle cover just because it doesn't get bound up. Like it just did for me. Put these in. All right. So pretty much done and now I can either roll all this up and hope it doesn't unroll, or I can just grab all of it and put it somewhere. They're kind of gross and wet. Don't really want to get them too close to me. So you guys decide. I'm definitely going to go with this. I'd rather not use the normal straps.So hopefully that kind of gives you an idea of how quick and easy it is to load and unload, but let's go ahead and figure out how to store them. You guys know how to store normal ratchet straps. Usually people just bunch them up throw it in a gallon bucket or something. The nice thing about it is, if you guys have some sort of nail or a hook or something like that, you guys can just go ahead and just hang it on something. It'll be really, really easy and also it's going to look a lot better. It's not going to touch the ground or anything, whether it's in your trailer on a box, or even if you throw it in your toolbox, it's not really going to take up a whole lot of space, but you have an option to hang it.We did it earlier. It works pretty well. The quick loader straps are going to come in a lot of different shapes and sizes, but the ones that we have here are going to have flat hooks that are going to be zinc-plated. So they're going to be extra strong for your big old loads like this big tractor here. Also, they are going to be about two inches wide and we're going to have 27 feet of strap, so that's a lot of strap. And as you guys can see also on the handle and everything else, anything metal is pretty much zinc coated. So it is going to last and resist against all that rust and corrosion if you guys end up leaving them outside or something like that.What really sets these apart is literally in here this big old wheel, we don't really have to worry about figuring out what to do with all that excess strap and with this super, super quick and easy. And it really works very, very well. As you guys can see, it does a pretty good job of ratcheting it in even if I pull it all the way out, which is going to take me a while, just because there's a lot of strap here, but I just think that's pretty neat.So for your bigger equipment, like the one you see here, this tractor runs about 3,700 pounds with the front bucket, but not with the back box blade that we have on it. So it's pretty much about 4,000 pounds, which is good, just because we have to have these straps in the front with a working load limit of 3,300 pounds. So those added together 6,600 pounds of working load limit. And these are each going to have a break away strength of about 10,000 pounds. So having two upfront and one in the back should be plenty for this big old tractor. And for the bigger equipment, a bigger lever is in my opinion, something that's needed or just makes the job a lot easier this way. I really don't have to put a whole lot of stress on this lever to get it nice and tight.So that's going to be really, really good for that big, big, heavy equipment that you guys may be hauling around. Now that you guys have seen how just your traditional ratchet strap isn't necessarily the best way to strap down your equipment after seeing how easy these quick loader straps are, I'm going to go ahead and put these away and I'm going to go ahead and strap the rest of the rig down, and what we'll do afterwards, I'll just go over it and show you guys how I did it. Got the tractor all strapped down. So you guys saw how I did the front one on the driver's side. So let's go ahead and take a look around the other side. Pretty much the same exact thing, but it is extremely symmetrical, which I like, just because it looks good whenever you're going down the road. We used the same axle cover just to protect all of that.As you can see, looks great, nice and solid. But then back here, what we did is pretty much the same thing, hooked the flat hooks in like the others, but we used other axle covers just because our box blade here is actually putting a lot of stress on the strap. The strap should be fine, but we just put an extra little cover on that, just because the sharper edge and also on our three point over here. And it's pretty much the same thing on the other side, minus one little detail. So pretty much the way we had it strapped down over here is kind of the same that we had it over there, but we have the actual ratchet strap portion of it on that side. So I didn't really end up using another one of those protectors for my straps on the box strap, just because the housing of the ratchet strap itself is actually bumping up against that.So that's not going to get damaged at all. This is zinc coated. It's going to be extremely solid compared to all this. So just note that depending on how wide your stuff is, this is a relatively larger ratcheting mechanism, which honestly worked out pretty good in this instance. All in all, I'm definitely going to give this product two thumbs up. The quick loader straps are solving a lot of those issues that I usually have with ratchet straps and I really think it's going to solve your guys' issue too.
