Hi, it's Evangeline, here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Kelty Hooded Blanket, otherwise known as the Hoodigan, right here at etrailer. Is it a hoodie Is it a blanket I think it's both. So whether you're sitting beside a bonfire or you're on the cold bleachers watching a soccer game, or you just want to make your life a little bit more comfortable, that's where this Kelty Hooded Blanket can come in handy. So you can get this blanket in two different colors and patterns. So what I have here is the teal, as well as the green, but you can also get this in a version that looks like an orange and a navy. This also has two sides, so it's reversible.

So what I have on the outside is the blue, which is our comfortable, blanket-feeling side, but on the other side, we have the sleeping bag material, which is slightly waterproof, so let's flip this around. There, just like that. So this has synthetic insulation, which keeps it lightweight and warm, so you're not weighed down by a big heavy blanket, but you're also warm and cozy. This is also the side that I would wear in, because then I have the soft brush fabric touching my skin, and the insulation on the outside. So on its own, this is basically just a blanket with a hood.

Perfect for if you want full comfort and full coverage over you. So when you're sitting by a bonfire, you're at a football game, I would have it like this. But what if you want a little bit more movement Let's say you want to start cooking some s'mores. What you can do is you can fold these up so you can get more sleeves for more movement. Let's take a look at that.

So on each side, right where your arms are gonna be sticking out, you have these two loops, so one and two. So we're gonna use them to attach to the button, that's gonna be on the hoodie. So we have different options for this. I'll show you the first one, which is the full sleeve. So the hook closest to you is gonna go onto the front button, and what I do is, I actually go around it twice, so that doesn't slip off.

The next hook is gonna go on your back button, and if you don't have someone helping you, you can just flip this hoodie around and then do it there. And just like that, I now have sleeves. So now this is open towards the sides, but I'm still able to cover the front and the back, and if I just want to be warmer for a quick second, I can just pull this over, and then I'm back to comfort. So this now gives me pretty much full range of motion for if I need to carry things or reach for things. Also, let's say it gets a little bit warmer and I just need to vent out the sides, then I can just fold up these sleeves, and just like that, I have the best of both worlds. So this is designed for those two sides and those two configurations. But I personally have a third configuration which I like, which gives me a little bit of extra movement, but also the comfort. So what I do is, I only hook up one hook or one loop, and that's gonna be the one closest to me, and that's what I'm gonna put in the back. And just like that. I call this configuration "the turkey," because when needed, you have the range of motion to the side, and when you're done, you can kinda just tuck your hands onto the inside of these flaps, and then you're warm again. I noticed how high quality the sewing and the stitching is. On our seams, on the end, I really like how everything's made. It's tucked inside, so notice how the seams are sewn, where you don't have excess, and that will decrease your freeing. You also have a quilted stitch all throughout, so it makes it feel like you're wearing a quilt, you're wearing a blanket, and it doesn't just feel like a poncho or a coat. It's just a little bit more. So speaking of materials, whichever side you wear it on just gives you a different experience. It's kind of cold out here at etrailer, and I'm appreciating the soft brush fabric, because I'm feeling a bit warmer, but if it was warmer, if it was sunnier outside, I would go ahead and wear the sleeping bag material on my skin, because that'll help me feel more of a breeze. But I would wear it with the sleeping bag material on the outside, though, if I had to sit down. So let's say you're by the bonfire and you have to sit down on a log, you're out hiking, you have to sit down on the ground. Having that material on the outside means the inside won't get as dirty, and the dirt or the dampness will just brush straight off. So now I'll take it off, so you can take a closer look at the hoodie itself, but also, notice how easy it is just to get out of this. Just like that. When not in use, this has a pocket for your hood. So your hood just folds right into that pocket, and then it secures with this tab and this button that you we're using earlier for the sleeves, so you just repurpose those things. And now, you have a rectangular blanket. So this also comes in a stuff sack, which means it's super easy to stuff away. I like all the sleeping bags and all the hoodies that have stuff sacks, because then I don't have to focus on rolling. I just stuff. With it in its stored position, The bag itself is fifteen inches long and eight inches wide. This will differ on how you stuff it inside of the bag. But once you do have it over, you have a sense strap to keep it down, as well as a flap, and you have a very convenient carrying handle to a side. So with it in this position, that makes it a lot easier to store inside of your hiking pack. So this is five feet and eleven inches long and five feet and eleven inches wide. But, as you can see, I am actually 5'2" when it comes to my height, and wearing this hoodie, it just barely sits above the ground. So my videographer actually likes to wear this hoodie too, because, as we're shooting outside, it can get really cold like it is right now. So having that on allows him that range of motion to carry his camera while staying warm. So John, you've been wearing this hoodie for a while. What do you think about itI really enjoy it. It's really nice because I've been active for the last couple of days when we've been filming, and I've had this on, and I haven't had to take it off whenever we're deciding to put something up onto vehicles, or when I'm using my camera, which is really nice. Overall, I really liked the look and the design of it as well. This is something that, if I was going out hunting up in a deer stand, I would throw on. And it's really nice because it covers everything. So I wouldn't have to have a big jacket or a coat on. For sure. And I also appreciate it too, because, as long as John is not sharing, our shots are still good. So I have Katrina here, who has the hoodie on, and then I have my jacket, which I usually wear here at etrailer. The weather right now is a temperature of about thirties, I would say, with a good amount of wind chill. It's kind of cold. So, we're gonna do a little segment, which I call "Jacket Versus Blanket." So, I have my jacket on. Am I warm Yes. You have the blanket on, are you warmVery, very warm. And I have a pretty good range of motion with my jacket here. So that's really cool. Do I have range of motion Yes. And if we clip this up, do you have range of motionYes. A lot of range of motion. A lot of range of motion, even with it clipped down. Nice, nice. Okay, now, if it got warmer and this is a little bit too much, how easy is it to take a jacket off I would have to do something like this, right And then walk around it with it on my arms. Not as fun. For you, how quickly would it be, just to get a little bit of air ventilationYou just flip this up and clip it. And just like that, you're good to go. You get the best of both worlds. Yep, and then you have full range. Nice. And final thing. Do I have a lot of fun while wearing my jacket Yes, but not as fun as you do. Not as fun. Cool, thanks Katrina. If I was asked, I still would prefer using a blanket over a jacket. How do you feel about thatI would definitely use the blanket over the jacket. It's so fun and comfy. Very. We have other products right here at etrailer as well. So if the hoodie blanket is not enough for you, let's say, you want to camp out in your trailer, or at the campsite, you can convert this into a blanket, but you can use other things too. Like, we have the Kelty Biggie Blanket, which is their larger blanket. We also have a Kelty sleeping bag, which is nice and insulated, has different temperature ratings depending on where you are and how cold it is. So my personal thoughts about this hoodie-slash-blanket is, I had a whole lot of fun making this video. I pranced around the etrailer parking lot. I was very comfortable, even though it was very cold outside, and it was just fun reversing it, trying different positions or configurations with the blanket and just testing its limits. So I do like how you can convert this into a rectangular blanket for when you're ready to camp. You can also bunch this up and then use this as a pillow, so there's a lot of versatility. There's a lot of fun that can be had with this blanket. Now, some things I wish it had that it didn't is an easier way to clip up those sleeves. You have those hooks, as well as those buttons, but if you don't loop those hooks twice, they could come off very quickly. So that's something to think about. Also, the hoodie portion is a little bit big, so it can fall off of your head if it's a breezy day or if you're too active and you're moving around. But other than that, also, I wish it had more colors because Kelty has a pretty good line of colors for their blankets and their tents, but other than that, I think it all went really, really well when it came to the practical use.
