Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the DeeZee Nerf Bars, part number DZ372531.The reason you're going to want a set of steps like this is not only do they look good on your vehicle, but they also make it easier for you to get in and out of your truck. As you'll notice, these boards have a really nice profile, which follow the lines of our truck very well. Not only can they assist our front passengers getting in, but we also have a step portion here on the back for our backseat passengers.The step portion of our running boards measures 21" wide by 3" deep and is the same on both locations for our front and our backseat passengers. The 3" diameter tubular bar runs the entire length of the cab. These steps have a 250-pound capacity, so they're plenty strong for most individuals.When comparing these steps to a similar option from Westin, these bolt through our body mount, through the frame and in the body of the vehicle, making them very strong, whereas the Westins only attach to the body of the vehicle. You may get a little flex out of those.

Many of our customers even a year later have been very impressed with the quality of the finish and how sturdy the running boards are. Now that we've gone over some features, we'll show you how to get them installed.To begin our install, we'll be on the passenger side at the rear of our cab. When we look up, we'll find a body mount bushing. We need to remove this bolt. It's a 21mm bolt.

You'll want to break it free by hand. You don't want to use an impact on it, but you can use a ratchet once you have it started. With that out, we'll get our other two mounting locations out further forward.With all of our body mount bolts out on the passenger side, we can start to attach our brackets. We'll take the factory mount bushing washer off. Starting on the rear, we'll place one of our rubber washers on the top, place the factory washer back on.

Now we'll take the factory bolt, go through the bracket, the rubber washer and the factory washer, and we'll thread it back into place loosely.Okay, with the rear one loosely threaded in, we'll do the middle one now. For the middle bracket, we'll have a spacer on top, the rubber washer, and then our factory washer, and we'll loosely thread that on.For the front bracket, we'll place on a spacer, a rubber washer, and then a factor washer. Now we can begin the process of bolting the bars to our brackets. Starting at the rear, we'll have one of our M12 bolts, a lock washer, and a flat washer. We'll go through the bottom hole of our bracket from the inside, and we'll thread that into the back of our step.For the middle location, we'll have an M10 bolt, lock washer, and a flat washer.

We'll go through our bracket, and on the bolt in between our bracket and the step, we'll place on a plastic washer, inaudible 00:03:48 any squeaking, and then we'll thread that into our step. On the front, we'll use one of our M12 bolts with lock washer and flat washer again.Now we'll tighten all of our hardware beginning with our bar to our bracket hardware first. We'll do our rear location using an 18mm socket. Now we'll do our middle using a 16mm. Now, our brackets are slotted for adjustment. We'll pull our bar all the way out and we'll begin to tighten our brackets to the frame. Now we'll torque all of our hardware to the amount specified in the instructions. The body mount bushing you won't find specifications for those in the instructions. With our passenger side installed, we'll now repeat the same process for the driver side.
