Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the WeatherTech ClearCover license plate cover. This is a really great way to seal up and give a little possess to your license plate on your vehicle. The thing that it's so nice about it is that it has a rubber gasket going around the whole exterior to make sure that there's no water, or debris, or dirt or anything that's going to get kicked up and inside the cover.A lot of times with other covers that can eventually happen where there's like fog and stuff like that, that builds up on the inside. We shouldn't really have to worry about that with this. It is also really durable. It's going to protect our license plate from anybody messing with it, taking our tags or anything like that.
A lot of times that can happen. And it's always a real big bummer when somebody steals your tags. This should protect that from happening.Also has covers going over the hardware as well so you won't have to worry about anybody taking your license plate. And they give you a whole bunch of options for hardware to attach the license plate as well. You should be pretty covered as far as that goes.
You get all this stuff. It depends on what your vehicle uses, whether it has two or four attachment points, you'll be able to make your choice accordingly.To get it installed, you're going to want to pop out these little black covers, maybe using a pen or something like that to pop them out of place. And then you'll put your license plate in inside there, making sure that it sits inside that rubber lip. And then attach it onto your vehicle and replace those little black caps. The lens is made out of a clear acrylic, and the gasket is a nice again, rubber material.
It should be pretty well protected from anybody getting in there and messing with your plate.As you can see when it's read it is made in the USA, and that's pretty much all there is to it for our quick look at the WeatherTech ClearCover license plate frame. My 2019 Eternal Blue Miata needed a color coordinated license plate holder. Having purchased numerous items from Weather Tech, I went to their site again. Although the color wasn't a perfect match, it did the trick - see the attached PDF.
