Today we're going to be taking a look at the Bestop line of Strapless Bikinis for Jeeps. It comes in a variety of colors and fits. See etrailer.com for your specific fit. As you can see, our top only covers up our front seats, our driver and our passenger. It's made of a nice UV resistant and mildew resistant fabric. As you can see, it attaches to our roll bar back here. It uses a heavy duty industrial strength thread as well as buckles to help draw it together and keep it nice and tight from flapping in the wind. The Bestop Strapless Bikini provides all the benefits of the traditional bikini top, shelter from sunlight and rain as well as open air driving without the need of a rear tie down strap.
Now that's we've gone over some of the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. First thing you'll need is the windshield channel kit. To make sure you have the specific kit for your vehicle, see etrailer.com. The one we're working with today is part number B51210. To begin installing our channel kit, we'll first need to grab one of our channels and to make sure you have the correct one, this end goes up against the roll bar on this side. We'll also want to make sure that our adhesive strip sticks towards the windshield.
Once we get that positioned you'll notice that it's a perfect fit. It allows for our buckle to sit still and it sits right on top of our visor. Then we'll take our marker and we'll want to mark those holes. Now we'll grab our other channel and repeat that same process on this side, once again making sure the curved edge goes up against our roll bar here and that our adhesive strip faces toward our windshield, the rubber part here. We will then grab our marker and we'll mark our holes. Now I can go ahead and drill out our holes using our 1/8-inch drill bit.
Start with our first one here. Now with our holes all drilled out, we'll go ahead and draw 00:02:16 our channel back up there and make sure everything's all lined up, checking all our holes. That one looks good. Grab our other one, put that up there and that one looks good too. Now we can go ahead and remove our adhesive strip.
We'll want to make sure that that's all wiped off and clean. As you can see, I did the best I could there. We went ahead and took the strip off of our foam gasket and made sure this is all cleaned up. We'll line our holes up. Once that's lined up we'll go ahead and take our included self tapping screws and we'll screw them into place. Now we'll go ahead and repeat that same process on this side. As you can see, I've already peeled the paper off to expose our foam gasket. We'll line up our holes and make sure this is all lined up and nice as well and then we'll go ahead and start putting our screws through. Now that our channel's installed, we can go ahead and grab our bikini top. We'll want to run our plastic through our channel here. Now that our top is put on, we'll go ahead and grab the rest of it, bring it up, set our hook and loop on top. Undo our strap here, bring it around underneath. That's just to secure it for us so it'll hold it up. We'll put the rest of our hook and loop in place. Bring our front strap around. Then I'll grab my buckle back here, bring this up around just to secure our corner. Once that's done, we can repeat the same process on the other side. The last step to securing our top, we'll bring our straps up. We'll want to feed that down through. Then we'll feed that around our roll bar. Here on the other side with our straps fed through, go ahead and put those through the buckles and pull them tight. Finally our last strap. This one if you notice, is real long. This is going to come up through our loop up by our windshield and if you notice as you pull, it tightens up the top. Bring that through our buckle and back through and pull that nice and top and it's going to draw our top, making a nice tight fit. That's going to complete our look at the Bestop line of Strapless Bikinis for Jeeps. .

Just a quick note. I love the top and ease to install mounting bracket. Issue after a year I have a strap that busted that anchors back portion of cover. Now I have one side flapping in the wind.
Not sure on how long the straps are expected to last but figured at least a couple years.
Other than that it works and looked nice on my Scout.
Found out during installation that another piece of equipment is required at $[XX]. We were unaware of this. etrailer wants to charge $[XX] to return the top. We will eat the cost and write it down as a lesson learned…..don’t do business with etrailer again!
I do not recommend this top unless you always drive slower than 35 miles per hour. At just over 35 miles per hour the top flaps so hard it beats itself loose of the straps. I contacted etrailer and they indicated this is a common problem and was referred to Best Top. No answer yet.
The product appears to be good quality and installation was fine. The problem I have is the back of the safari top canvas has no support and at 35 mph or more the canvas flaps violently. All the straps are as tight as they can go. Without some retrofit solution this safari top can not be used for normal road driving. It's too bad because the product does seem to be good quality, they just should have put a little extra effort into the flapping problem. I would not recommend this product.
This is the second Best top I have had. The first was great but eventually the weather an UV got to the straps on it and had to replace. Probably 10 yrs. Had no hesitation to buy a best top again.
E trailers had a good price and I've purchased from them in the past. Always great service and fast economical shipping. I've never had any problems with their products so I've never had to call their customer service but I'm sure it's just as good as as their shipping I'm sure it would be outstanding.
