Today we're going to be taking a look at part of our PC002258R01, this is the Jeep logo trailer hitch cover for 1 1/4" and 2" hitches from chroma hitch covers. This is an officially licensed product. It's gonna slide into the receiver tube of your hitch and it's going to help keep out dirt and grime and prevent rust and corrosion to the hitch. It also adds a clean finish look the vehicle. We're going to have brushed aluminum faceplate with the sleek black enamel finish that won't fade, chip, rust or peel. The hitch plugs are made from aluminum as well so all around the unit we're going to have contractor grade aluminum which is highly resistant towards rust and corrosion.
The hitch cover's going to last a really long time. It's going to come with two differently sized mounting brackets and the necessary hardware. The brackets are going to be held on there with four screws and four serated washers. I have it equipped for a 2" by 2" trailer hitch setup. You can see that's going to offer three pinhole locations to choose from when it comes to securing this in your hitch and then the 1 1/4" setup's going to offer two pinhole locations to choose from. The multi pinhole design is going to provide you with options that we can choose whatever pinhole works best for your particular vehicle. Now your hitch pinning clip or hitch lock, those are going to be sold separately but they are required for an installation so if you don't already have one you can find those right here at etrailer.com.
The 2" setup is going to use the standard 5/8" diameter pin and then the 1 1/4" setup is going to use a 1/2" diameter pin. We're going to take a measurement of the face plate real quick. That's going to give us a measurement of 6 3/4" wide.by 2 1/2" tall. Really simple installation. You just take it and slide it into the receiver tube of your hitch and then line up whatever pinhole works best for you and secure it with the hitch pinning clip or hitch lock. That's going to do it for today's look at part number PC002258R01.

Some Assembly required, but not much. I am still waiting on the hitch to arrive from etrailer, so have not put this cover to use yet but it looks like a sturdy piece about 3/8" thick and held in by the receiver pin. It is primarily plastic with a brushed Aluminum face and "jeep" embossed on it. It should show up well even after several trips up and down Alabama dirt roads and add a little of the jeep mystique to the new excessively curvy Cherokee my wife bought. Sorry, no hitch in the picture.
The plaque itself is fine but the holes do not line up with the bracket holes so you can only get 2 of the 4 in...hope it holds....

This plaque comes with a 2 inch and inch and a quarter option. You will it and only use two of the mounting holes with a pin and clip.
Looks great and is functional ! Even had the best customer service as I placed an original order for a hitch cover that wouldn’t fit. Someone personally called me and suggested what would fit and I ordered this!
I’ve had this hitch cover before until someone hit me from behind in my vehicle very good quality of course glad I could find it again thanks etrailer

Emblem is crooked due to design of mounting brackets on the back not aligning correctly when installed.

Much bigger that I thought. It's so cool. I love it. The on[ly con is that if you pull into a steep driveway, cut the wheels because it will scrap. It survived!

The bracket was a little snug for my 1-1/4" hitch but with a little wiggling it is firmly in place and locked. It looks as cool as it does online.
This product looks cool and it's even better on the vehicle.
I drive a Lexus CT200h (no modifications). Here's what I can tell you after a year of having it on the vehicle:
- The cover measures 4 1/2" in diameter - it's bigger than I expected. That dimension is critical for fit between the receiver and bumper. And it just fits on my vehicle.
- The cover is cast aluminum and does not give if it hits something. Within a couple of months on the vehicle the bottom of the cover somehow cracked off. I would recommend this product only for trucks and SUVs.
Great product. I was actually expecting it to be somewhat cheaply made, but to my surprise, it's really solid and heavy-duty. I like dealing with eTrailer because shipping is fast and price is fair.

This little cover is simple and does not fit real tightly but that has not been a problem.
