Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the plier set for performance tools. This is going to have three different types of pliers that come with it, and they all have comfort grip handles. And they do feel pretty comfortable in your hand. There's just this little swell out at the top so your thumb and forefinger kind of sit nicely in there and it should work well for lefties, too. So it gives you a nice place to grab onto it, kind of a rubbery material within a plastic reinforcement on the back.

The metal itself is a drop forged steel. So it should be long lasting. Feels pretty nice and heavy, at least for these linesmen pliers. Needle nose are kind of lightweight, which is not bad, want those to be a little lighter weight. And then our diagonal pliers, our wire cutters feel pretty good as well.

So any of these I think, should probably work pretty well.I've got some random wires here that I grabbed from the shop just to see how well they cut. So let's jump in and try them out. So with the wire cutters especially, those usually you can use for fairly big wire and I've got a variety of different gauges here. Let me get to the end. It looks like some 10 gauge wire.

This is kind of your bread and butter for a lot of trailer wiring or a lot of different applications. So cuts pretty good for that size. Let's try out a little needle nose guys have a little cutting edge as well. And those will do. Our lineman pliers, try it out on the same thing.

And those just go through like butter. These, since they are heavier duty, they are meant for cutting through bigger wires, so that's what we want to see. I'm going to try maybe on something a little bit fatter than that, so maybe six gauge or maybe even four gauge wire here. This is pretty thick. And it's going, so that'll cut through there. Let's try the wire cutters. Again, they'll cut through pretty well. And there's enough of a handle that you can get two hands on there and cut it out pretty good.So I'd say overall, it seems like they work pretty well. A good weight to the handles as far as that goes. So I think they should work out pretty well. Of course, the better you take care of the tools, the longer they last, keeping them oiled and out of any rusty conditions or anything like that. The diagonal color cutters are our wire cutters and the needle nose, they both measure about six inches long. Our lineman pliers measure about eight inches long. One other thing I wanted to note is that it has a gripping surface up here at the top, and it does also have a gripping surface down here at the bottom. And that's true for all of them. They all have a serrated edge on the other side of the fulcrum from the cutting edge. So that helps to give you a better grip. So if you want to use that to crimp something down, not that it's a crimping tool necessarily, but maybe we can just give you a little bit better grip onto something to pinch it off. You can see the same thing there and there. That's pretty much it for our look at the plier set with comfort grips. I hope this helps to decide if this is the right set for you. We do have a lot of other tools available here at etrailer.com, along with a lot of wiring accessories, trailer parts and accessories and all kinds of good stuff. So check those out right here at etrailer. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
