Most standard pin boxes are constructed of steel and are built with the sole purpose of connecting your fifth-wheel trailer to your tow vehicle. There is no cushioning built in, so a factory pin box doesn't do anything to provide a comfortable ride when you're hauling your fifth-wheel trailer.
This MORryde pin box, however, is built with an internal rubber spring that absorbs road shock and vibration at the connection point. So if you're driving on unpaved roads or uneven pavement, this pin box will prevent any road shock and vibration you encounter from transferring from your tow vehicle to your fifth-wheel trailer and vice versa. In other words, the rubber spring takes the brunt of the impact so you and your towing setup don't have to. And because this unit uses a rubber spring instead of an internal air bag like some other upgraded pin boxes, there's no maintenance required.
Although this pin box can tow up to 18,000 lbs, the internal rubber shear spring is optimized for trailers that are under 11,500 lbs. A rubber spring built for 18,000-lb trailers would be too stiff to provide any cushion for a trailer under 11,500 lbs, while a rubber spring built for trailers under 11,500 lbs would be too flexible for a 18,000-lb trailer.
Chucking, the back-and-forth jerking movement you feel in your cab when towing, occurs most frequently during starts and stops and while making turns. A typical, factory pin box creates a rigid connection without much give. So when a harsh stop occurs, all of the trailer's forward momentum gets forced through that stiff connection, slamming the king pin in the hitch and jerking your truck around.
To combat this, glide pads are built into the MORryde pin box that allow the skid plate to shift up to 3" forward and backward and 1-1/2" side to side to compensate for some of that violent motion so that you don't have to feel it in your cab.
This MORryde pin box is a direct replacement for your existing Lippert 1621HD pin box, so the installation is very straightforward. After removing your old pin box, the MORryde can be mounted into place using the same hardware and bolt holes used by the factory pin box.
Because of the weight of the unit, you'll want a couple of friends to help you lift it into place during installation. Once the hardware is securely bolted down, you'll be ready to go.

King pin does what it suppose to, less jarring on rough roads and when stopping and starting.
Bolted Right up. Sure does take out the chucking to only a little bump here and there. Without this device, my coffee cup would hop out of the holder.
I bought and had one for my previous camper as well. I won't be without.
Just what I needed for my fifth wheel, haven’t pulled it yet. My friends all have them and say it takes the jerk out. Wife has neck problems, so I’m sure it will help.Shipping was quick and packaging was excellent.
I have not installed this part on my 2021 momentum 395MSR yet, but it was received in perfect condition. I had the same pin box on my Solitude390RKR and loved the way it handled. If the part does not perform as expected once installed and after I have some miles behind it i'll update my review.
Installed this MORryde cushioned pin box on a 20K# toyhauler(from a solid pin). Comparing 9K miles before and 11K miles after, it made a remarkable improvement in the ride, especially on choppy, rough roads (think I-40 across New Mexico). Easy bolt-on installation. I consulted with the staff @ etrailer.com to ensure the correct hitch model was selected. Shipping was straight forward via truck freight. Excellent communication through the process.
This cushioned pin box is definitely worth the upgrade. Chucking is greatly reduced (There's no getting totally away from it) and the frequency of the chucking is tempered making the ride much more pleasant. There are times when you forget your towing it's so smooth on decent stretches of road. Delivery was quick (3 days early as a matter of fact) and driver dropped it in my garage. Plus the fitment was perfect, bolted on with no problem. Entire experience was good !!

So far this is a welcome upgrade. Took it on a short trip over some rough road that normally triggers chucking on my F-250. This pinbox prevented it which was a welcome change. I’m looking forward to some longer trips.
Installation was straightforward. Removed the old pinbox which was fairly easy. Installing the new pinbox would’ve been a challenge had my buddy not had a forklift attachment for his tractor. I don’t know the exact difference in weight between the old Lippert pinbox and the new Moryde, but it is substantially heavier. I’d say 2 people muscling and one to install the hardware would still be a challenge. Forklift or similar is the way to go. Also, the new pinbox doesn’t come with new hardware. Got to use your old or make a trip to Lowe’s/Home Depot.
All and all I’m happy with the upgrade, but I thought it was pricey and don’t like the additional weight.
After talking to your customer support staff and picking out the right pin box, I ordered it the next day on line. Shipping was fast and it arrived in good shape. The Pin box came with all the bolts and Hardware, it took about an hour to install on my 2024 Momentum M class RV. I took it for a 2-hour road trip and you cannot believe the difference in the ride. I am never disappointed when I deal with etrailer.

While not yet installed thought it worth commenting on the experience thus far - in a word “excellent”. Package was well packaged, the transporter was awesome and kept us informed of his delivery schedule, given the weight of the shipment.
Bottom line, the process to date has been outstanding and would highly recommend using etrailer for your rv needs.
The king pin box was delivered in perfect shape. Metal banded, strapped to a wood pallet in a card board box. Upon installation it fit perfect.
The customer support was excellent throughout the whole process from the ordering, making sure the correct king pin box was selected, to follow up, due to the long wait. The long wait was due to Covid 19. I am a happy camper and cannot wait to try it out on the road soon. I will send a follow up review. The hitch is great. The fact that etrailer only offered one shipping method was disappointing. Upon placing the order, requested a faster more reliable shipping method. This was not an option. The item arrived the Thursday after the estimated Monday delivery. Tracking proved that the item sat in warehouse depots for 11 of the 14 shipping days. This was very frustrating.
Fit perfect on my Grand Design Reflection 303RLS. Will be taking a long trip very soon and will let you know how it performs.
It took me about an hour to remove the old one and install the Morryde! Out local camper dealer wanted $700 to do that! I guess I'm worth more than I thought!
After talking with a couple of the sales raps, we were able to obtain the right product. It was shipped it was delivered on time. We picked it up at will call installed it a few hours later with no trouble at all. We would recommend etrailers and this product to anyone.

This is an excellent pinbox and hopefully I’m saving some wear and tear on my trailer. We have a Superglide auto slide hitch and the Morryde adapter sure beats the capture plate I had before. No more chancing a broken foot when it accidentally falls off.

I can confirm it fits a 2010 jayco eagle. 351 rlsa.
Although it's a 11k to just uner 15k gross the 14k to 18k rating shuld do well.

Towing our 36' toy hauler with this pin box is much less jarring than the original pin box. It definitely isolated the movement of the trailer from the truck.
