Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this PullRite OEX SuperLite fifth wheel hitch. Now this hitch has been designed specifically for your 2013 and newer RAM 2500 and 3500 with the factory installed towing prep package and on custom fit parts such as this hitch I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide, input the year, make and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. This fifth wheel hitch is going to mount into your RAM's truck bed so you can tow your fifth wheel trailer. And this is going to work with the factory installed fifth wheel towing prep package from RAM. Now, in case you did know PullRite's OEX line of hitches are uniquely designed to give you more options.

So if you prefer a different coupling method sometime down the road other than what you're receiving here today, this is going to give you the ability to swap this head out without the cost of buying a completely new hitch. For instance, you could swap this included head out for the more traditional PullRite Super fifth wheel head that you see there on your screen all without investing in a new hitch. This hitch, this head is going to be easily removable by just removing the pin and clip here and then you just lift this funnel out of place and then you can exchange it for that Super fifth wheel head along with the hitch, the head hitch plates that are gonna come with that. So it's gonna be very easy to swap this out if you ever wanna do that sometime in the future. Now this hitch is made here in the USA from high quality American steel with the black powder coat finish that's going to help prevent rust and corrosion.

This has been SAE J2638 tested to a gross towing weight of 25,000 pounds and a vertical load limit of 6,250 pounds. But this is one of the lightest 25K hitches on the market today. These OEX hitches are relatively lightweight and with two thirds of the lifting weight compared to other similar hitches on the market today. Now, this uniquely designed interchangeable coupler assembly is going to give you enough rear word offset to be the second best solution for a short bed truck. The first and the best, obviously being a slider hitch for a short bed truck.

But this SuperLite combined with the coupler that you see here beside me is going to allow you up to an additional seven and a half inches of rear word offset. So this is going to give you flexibility in that regard, but also this is going to allow you to adjust height of this funnel that the coupler is going to mount into. So you're gonna have three height adjustment settings from 16 and three quarter inches to 19 and a quarter inches to allow you to make your fifth wheel as level as possible as you tow your vehicle. Now, taking a look overhead here, one of the things that I do like about this system among others is that this isn't going to require any adapters or rails or tools to install or to remove, to install or remove in and out of the bed of your truck. This is going to install and remove quickly and easily.

There's not gonna be any binding, unlike other OE puck systems, this is going to drop into the four receiver pucks in the bed of your truck that are built into the factory underbed rails. It's going to secure in place with these removable top mounted mounting posts. Now, I wanted to give you a brief demonstration of how these are gonna work. I'm gonna work on this one here just to show you. I'm gonna remove this bale pin here that's included, and then when you rotate the mounting post, you can completely remove it. And that's a great feature because what you could do is you could get this base into the bed of your truck and scoot it to the mounting, the pucks in the bed of your truck. And then when you line up the holes, then you can replace the mounting posts. So these mounting posts don't have to stay in here while you're scooting this to the puck system, potentially scratching the bed of your truck. And then once you have it in place, you'll rotate it and then that will secure it into the puck system. Let me give you a closeup view here real quick just to show you what's going on. So again, you can remove it and then once you're over the pucks in the bed of the truck, you can just go ahead and replace the mounting post, rotate it, and then that will latch into the puck system. And then you'll just take the bale pins and replace those and then that will secure those mounting posts in place. And then this is not going to be a permanent install when you're done towing, you can just simply remove this and then that's going to free the bed of your truck up again to allow you to go back to hauling as normal. Now this does feature a unique two-piece design that's going to allow for fast and easy coupling, and this coupler here is going to bolt around the kingpin on your trailer to create a new connection point. And this open funnel on the hitch head is going to make it very easy to guide this ball in. So this is, has an added benefit being very easy to see from your cab during hookup. And let me give you a brief demonstration of what that's going to look like. So let me make sure that my funnel is open. It looks like it is. So I'm just going to go ahead and slide this in just like that. And then I'm gonna go ahead and come around here is probably gonna be easier. Just give this a slight pull and then a turn and then that's going to lock or secure that in place. As you can see, I can't lift that out of that funnel. And then when you're ready to disconnect, you can just pull this lever and then give it a little bit of a turn. And then that's going to allow me to then lift that back out. So again, this is going to go around your kingpin to give you that new connection point. And then this does also include this remote latch handle as you can see here. And then that this is designed to help you reach the release latch from a lower tailgate so you don't have to go crawling around inside of the bed of your truck to connect and disconnect. So some great options that's included with this. So if you're looking for a lighter weight 25K fifth wheel hitch that's going to drop into your RAM's factory puck system and then give you some additional coupling options later on in the future, this is really going to be a great item for you to consider.
