Specs:
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area on the driver's side and passenger's side. You will have to remove the trunk floor cover, storage tray, and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, run the red hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins plug in simple vehicle wiring harness with the Ford full-fledged to the connector. This product fits certain years of the Lexus CT 200 H and Lexus HS 250 H. It's going to provide a four-way flat connector at the back of the vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This is compatible with five pull, six pull, and seven pull adapters. Adapters are sold separately. And it's going to come with the dust cap for the four-way flat connector, that way you can cover up the connection points when your plug's not being used. Now the box right here, this black box is the taillight converter.
This is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. The power module connects directly to the vehicle battery through the wiring to avoid overload in the vehicle's electrical system. The unit's designed to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires, just look at the connection points in the rear cargo area and then you're going to have these connectors right here, they're going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle. One goes to the driver's side, one goes to the passenger's side.
Again, custom fit for your vehicle, and they're going to snap lock together for a secure fit. Once you get those connected, you'll need to make your ground connection. That's the white wire with the ring terminal attached to it. You want to get that grounded to a nice, clean metal surface with the included grounding screw, and then you can mount the converter box with the included cable ties to a clean, out of the way location. You can secure that to wiring harnesses, whatever it is that you can really get a good grip on to get it secured out of the way. It's got two tabs, one on each side.
That way you can run the cable tie through there and get it secured in a safe, out of the way location. Then you'll need to run your hot lead to the vehicle battery. It's going to be the red wire with the butt connector attached to it. This is going to get connected to one end of the bundle of wiring. The other end of the bundle runs to the vehicle battery, gets attached to one half of the fuse holder here at the butt connector. The other half of the fuse holder has a ring terminal attached to it.
That gets connected to the positive post of the vehicle battery. The kit's also going to come with your 15 amp fuse, goes directly to this area here. It's got a fuse cap on there to keep it safe and protected. Once you have that done, you can secure any excess or slack in the wiring with the included cable ties and then once your installation's complete, the four-way connector's going to be stowed in the trunk of the vehicle. It's recommended that you use a small amount of the included grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the four pull connector itself. That grease is going to help prevent corrosion to the connection points. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at three amps per side, and for the tail lights we're looking at six amps. That's going to do it for today's look at the hop ins, plug ins, simple vehicle wiring harness.
