Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area. It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector. This harness is designed to fit your 2013 to 2016 Dodge Dart. And this harness is going to give you a 4-pole flat trailer connector at the back of your Dart to power your trailer signal lights. This is going to be compatible with your 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters. Those are sold separately but you can find them here at etrailer.com if you need them.
And included, as you can see here is this dust cap that's actually tethered to the plug housing. So that's going to ensure that you're not going to misplace or lose it, and that dust cap is going to cover up those connection points when this plug is not being used. Now the black box that we have here on this harness is a ModuLite power module. The ModuLite is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer. It connects directly to your vehicle's battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system thereby reducing strain on your vehicle's wiring system.
Now this harness is designed to connect quickly and easily so there's not going to be any splicing of wires or no alterations to your vehicle's wiring which could lead to damage or possibly voiding warranties. The connections here with the yellow wires are gonna go on your driver's side and the connections with the green wire's gonna go on your passenger side of your vehicle. And these custom fit T1 connectors are going to plug into your Dart's wiring harness which is located in the rear cargo area behind the driver's side and passenger side interior trim panels. These key connectors are custom fitted for your Dart so they're going to match up perfectly with the connection points on your dart and they're just going to snap and lock together for a nice tight, secure fit. Now once you have those plugged in you are going to need to make a good ground connection.
This ground wire is this white wire that has a ring terminal attached to it and it does come with a self-tapping screw so that you can get that grounded to a suitable location such as your vehicle's frame or crossmember. You just wanna make sure that the surface is clean and rust free. Then you will want to mount your ModuLite box to a safe out of the way location. And you can do that again with another mounting screw that you might have on hand or you can use this included double-sided adhesive tape or one of the many cable ties that's going to be included with your kit. You just wanna make sure that you have that in a safe spot on the inside of your vehicle where it's out of the way.
Next, you are going to need to connect these short black wires with the supplied yellow butt connector to the blunt cut red power wire on your driver's side near the taillight plugs. It will be taped to the wire that connects to the taillight connector. And then next, you're going to open up your Dart's hood and locate the vehicle fused relay box near the battery and you're going to remove the lid and locate the red blunt cut power wire that's taped to an existing harness up there. And then you wanna disconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable and if not removed you want to make sure that the fuse is removed from this included yellow fuse holder. And then after cutting the fuse holder wire you're going to attach the included ring terminal and secure it to the vehicle's positive battery cable and then connect the other end of the fuse holder to that red power wire in the fuse box using a yellow butt connector. And then you're going to reconnect your vehicle's negative battery cable and then install this 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder. And then that cap is going to keep that fuse safe and sound. Now you can secure any excess or slack in your wiring with the included bundle of cable ties. And then once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out of the way location within your cargo area. The maximum amperage for the stop turn lights is 4.2 amps per circuit and for the taillights it's 7.5 amps per circuit. This harness is constructed out of 16 gauge bonded wire and a really good set of instructions are included to walk you through in a little more detail than I covered with you today. The installation process. It is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections like the plugs on the vehicle and the 4-pole flat connector itself. This is designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture. So if you do not already have some of that dielectric grease, and you would like to add that to your order, for your convenience on your screen I am including our item number for a tube of that grease and you can just put that item number in the search field of our website and that will take you to that grease and you can add it to your cart if you so desire. This is perfect for my 2016 Dodge Dart. It literally plugs right in and done in like 5 minutes. I use it all the time hauling my motorcycle or four wheeler on my trailer. Never had any issues.
Installed on 2016 Dodge Dart. Installation went good. Had a check engine light come on after installation, not sure if it was related or not. Check engine light went out the next day. Instructions were a bit confusing, in the end the lights work on trailer.
Installing the wireing was very easy. Having knowledge of removing the carpet retainers was good others may break them. Noted the wire under the hood was a different color code in the trunk. I used a multimeter, but a test light would work. That was the only part of the direction that was the least bit confuseing.
t-one wiring harness was made for my 2013 dodge dart. what a breeze to install,ive done 3 other universal installs and this was so easy ,no skinning wires and trying to find the right wires from the tail lights. i highly recommend you buy the one made for your car.
Works perfect, I always install these inside the trunk, which keeps the entire assembly out of the weather and out of the way. Saves the wear and tear from the elements, water, salt, sunlight and such.
No installation problems! I had a local shop install it for only $50 I would for sure recommend this product. I've got a 2015 Dodge dart :)
