What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checkin' out the Bulldog Winch cargo net. It's gonna be 6 by 8 feet long, and it's gonna go around your bed with ratch straps and hooks already attached to the net to help you tie down to those tie down points, ratchet down, and hold that cargo in place. Now it does come in three different sizes, so make sure you get the right size for you. Today we're gonna focus on the 6 foot by 8 foot, there's also a 4.6 foot by 6 foot. And there's also gonna be the bigger one, the 8 foot by 12 foot.

You can see the boxes aren't quite even, so that's good, 'cause that's what's gonna help us with that cargo net, that's gonna help not only hold down the boxes, but hold them together, as well. You see it's held there in there pretty good, not easy to shift that around because of those ratchet straps, and the hooks that are on the anchor points towards the back of a truck and the front. It's not, you get that nice and tight, so it's pulling down on the boxes and holding together. Now, let's go over how it works. I kind of draped the cargo net over that half already, this is the last corner we're gonna do.

I added some more boxes on this side, too, to make it an uneven load, just to show you how that would work out, 'cause, like I said, hopefully it's gonna pull down on these and kind of hold it together, so it don't slide around everywhere in there. So, we'll come over to this last corner with our ratcheting mechanism and our hook, bring it over the boxes, we're gonna aim for this anchor point here at the bottom of the truck bed. Now, down here at the anchor point, we got our vinyl coated S hook. I like that it's not just straight up metal, so it's not gonna damage anything you attach it to. It's got a little wear and tear already with us hooking it down and tighten it down for pictures, but just wanted to show you what that looks like.

We'll bring it down here, run it through our anchor point. It's already pretty tight, so we'll loosen the tension and try and pull it through a little bit more. I think we're good right there, actually. So, then pull on the mechanism on the inside to get it into the ratcheting position. So, then just turn this, and you'll see, it's putting tension on the net and pulling it down towards this corner.

And be careful, make sure you do it evenly so it doesn't get twisted up in there. Now, with it tied down, I'll show you the two smaller boxes up here on top. I can hit that. See, it's not really moving. Moves a little bit, but it's not gonna be having an impact like that to move it, but the net is pulling down on there, holding them in place. Something I really like is that the cargo net spreads all over the cargo and the ratch straps on the outside help pull that tension down on that net. So, it's not just two ratchet straps thrown across, or three, this whole net is on the cargo, pulling down. Looking at the net, the pattern of squares is gonna be 6 inch by 6 inch. Then, looking at the webbing itself is gonna be one inch width. Now, there's also double stitching here at the points where there's gonna be a lot of stress where it's either pushing down or pulling down on a box, you wanna make sure that's secure, so it's not gonna rip on you. And you can see it's got that extra stitching there on every one of these points to make sure this isn't gonna fail. The cargo net's gonna have a safe working load limit of 500 pounds and it's gonna have a break straight of 2,200 pounds, so just keep that in mind, whether you put it in your truck or you even use it on a flatbed trailer, that's what it can hold up to. Something I want you to keep in mind is what you're gonna be hauling at and what size of truck bed you have. So, your setup might be a little bit different. You never know what you're gonna carry, but at some point you wanna make sure you get the right net so that it's not too big for your bed and there's a lot of slack. You wanna be able to tighten it down with those tensioners and not have a lot left over. So, just something think about is your bed size, go out there and measure it and see what kind of net's gonna work best for you and what you're gonna carry. Now, when you got the net all taken off, it does come with a bag. It's a duffle style bag. So, what you're gonna do is just start feeding the net in there. It's actually not as bad as it may seem it's gonna be. I was surprised at how easy it was to get the net all put back in, just a little bit at a time. Yeah, it might be a little tangled up when you pull it out there, but it's nice that it has its own carrying bag so you know where it is, and it's not just sprawled out in the back of your truck or wherever you're gonna go put it. Overall, I think it's a handy thing to have, I like that it evenly holds down your cargo, as long as you get the right size for your truck, and you can ratchet down on all those points. It does get tangled up a little bit on itself when you're going to unroll it or when you put it back in that duffle bag, you go to roll it up in there and you get it back out, but it's not too bad, you just gotta unhook the few, the 8 hooks, get it laid out over your cargo, and then ratchet it down. Like I said before, I like it better than just a couple ratchet straps here in the center, holding everything, And it's a much better piece of mind for me to know that it's covering everything and everything's tight. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and hope this helped..

I have a large cargo rack on top of my Pathfinder. This net is perfect for throwing over the top and tightening the straps so nothing moves. Accommodates any size load and it's easy to open up a corner or side to slip something in or out. I've used it a dozen times and not a hint of wear, very sturdy. High quality ratchets and hooks.

Love this net for using on my roof cargo carrier. perfect size for throwing over one of those big metal roof baskets and easily allows you to secure a lot of odd shaped items that would otherwise not fit into a standard box or bag.
